In our daily struggles with bills, work, and family, we often overlook the fact that one day we will all be ancestors to future generations. Many individuals are too preoccupied with pursuing their next major purchase, career advancement, or waiting for the next Super Bowl to consider the impact they can have on their family's legacy. This distraction is a byproduct of our consumerist society. In my legacy class, I will address strategies for overcoming this distraction and cultivating the drive to strengthen one's family tree. We will explore how self-sufficiency and home production can provide hope for rebuilding our homes and communities. Unlike other classes at the expo, this will not be a 'how-to' class; instead, we will focus on developing a personal, unwavering 'why' that will empower you to overcome any obstacle. If you have been searching for a homesteader-centric motivational class on hope and rediscovering your legacy, this is the class for you. I promise you as someone who has been at this homesteading life for a long time, there is no amount of suffering you will endure by living this lifestyle that will not instill in you and your family a greater sense of purpose.

Flexicables installed for our geothermal solar powered greenhouse. The greenhouse they have in Aliance Nebraska grows pineapple and dates and citrus.
This will be the first steps to my non consumption based retirement.
Our backyard. Those panels are 12ft high at the top. Roughly 12k worth of off-grid power in Iowa. We spend a portion of our summer teaching solar classes to other DIYers.
