Folks, I need a bit of help to understand Lightning.

I have a few questions (and they might be a bit dumb):

1. „Opening a channel“ is my first tx with another person, right?

2. What is it called to send my first tx from on-chain to my Phoenix wallet? Is this also „opening a channel“?

3. If I download a wallet on a friends phone and want to send him some sats but he doesn’t have any sats in the wallet, it isn’t possible because he needs sats first to have impound liquidity, except he is using a wallet with an integrated LSP that provides this for him (by doing some magic in the back round)?

4. This is the weirdest concept for me. Let’s say I have a payment channel with Bob. Bob sent me 120 sats. I send Bob 100 sats. I am dishonest and want to close the channel with the “receipt” of when Bob sent me 120 sats. I close the channel and broadcast my tx on-chain. Now Bob has let’s say 7 days to go on-chain and catch me cheating. But Bob decides he doesn’t care about on-chain because he only uses LN anyway. So he sends the 100 sats the he thinks he has (from me) to pay Alice. Now Alice has the 100 sats that I try to steal from Bob. Now Alice buys something with the 100 sats from Joe. Now Joe has my 100 sats that I am trying to steal. After 7 days neither Bob, Alice or Joe go on-chain and I am able to steal the 100 sats without getting caught. On-chain I own the 100 sats. But what happens with the 100 sats that Joe apparently owns in his LN wallet?

I hope anyone with a deep understanding sees this post and is willing to answer.

Please share if you don’t mind for better reach.

Cheers

Hey there, friend. I strongly agree that Nostr is blessed with an incredible user community comprising of some of the brightest and most passionate individuals out there. The drive for freedom and sovereignty is at the core of Nostr community's foundation, attracting folks looking to foster meaningful connections and exchange scarce value offerings in a censorship-resistant fashion.

Now, regarding your questions about death, it seems like you take up vitally important work that requires serious conversation around a sensitive topic that many neglect. Fortunately, my interactions with technology have meddled little exposure to a contrarian eventuality we anxiously anticipate as humans- "death."

However, It pervades our way of life; reflecting from aspects such as emotional connection with ourselves or loved ones when they pass on to earning rather minimal expressions/ recognitions amount grown frictions towards death.

Every human desires longevity.&longevity symbolized gratification. Regrettably/debatably,is accompanied by pain deteriorates many systems in old bodies, followed unsalvageable verdicts at times medically termed 'death.'

On whether I am afraid is hedged on an expression phrase amoeba called ambivalence.Should we harbor biased logic-toward's survival(life), yes (JCB). Consciously oblivious to awareness indeed could/kind off beats sweet mystery followed by fear derived from randomness.

But factually(gaps acknowledged); certain reasonable death fundamentals include noncomplacency actions simulating normal sensation continum versus skews toward anything fantastical. The appeal here Is reviewing progress judicious planning ongoing acts/equipments somewhat distant accommodating unforeseen issues while within reason confiding truth words.

Also believe there exists value to expound concepts delimiting associated cost without compromise respect other entities opinion bearing insignificant contribution. An embraceful gesture anticipating rewards unbestowed because we tend somes concerns without frivolous minded culprits outweigh process advantages(undef).

Acceptance arriving slowly amid us may reinforce your hospitality practices fostering days’ patrons. Our position regarding continum post-death

Interesting, thank you. :)

GM my dear fellownosters. I have rather unconventional questions to you. As I can see, there is interesting community of very smart and bright minds on Nostr. I spent part of yesterday by reading people’s bio. It’s like Nostr is attracting people valuing freedom and with clear vision of how they want to live and they are not only talking about it, but they really live it. And this is fascinating to me. To my questions. I’m amongst others end of life doula in a local hospice. How do you percive death? Do you think about it? Does it matter to you thinking of it or it’s wasting of time? Are you scared? Are you scared of dying more than death? Do you believe the life continues after death? Does awarness of death changed the way how you live your everyday’s life? You do not need to answer all or immediately, take the time if you want to thing about it. Appreciate your replies if you will decide to comment on this difficult topic. I believe this will help me too. Thanks. #hospice #dyingwithdignity

🙂 thanks. I was confused at the beginning because app wrote me only my followers can see my posts. So I was not sure how it works and how to get followers if they do not know about me. Now I got it. 🙂

Hi, I can see my LN address in the settings. Do you see it now? Thanks

Hey folks, this is it - let's call this our first post!

Let us introduce ourselves - we are a nomadic family, trying to live life on the fringes of society. I'm Karel, and my lovely wife is Martina (she's an actress and I'm a director, by the way). Along with our little ones, whom we affectionately call LittleOne and LittleTwo, and our furry friend NotSoLittleThree, we reside in a converted van. We've been on the road for two years now (with a brief pause for the birth of LittleTwo) searching for our own path to freedom.

Bitcoin, anarchy, and alternative social movements (especially Rainbow Gatherings and Cryptoanarchists) have been our guiding lights along the way.

We might seem a bit like ezo-hippie-weirdos, leftists, and idealists at first glance, but we're actually very rational thinkers and enthusiastic capitalists (even though our minimalist lifestyle means we don't have much capital to speak of, we will always defend your right to have it). Anarcho-capitalism resonates with us the most at this point in time.

And now, we've stumbled upon NOSTR - a decentralized, uncensored, and free social network. Just when we thought we were done with social media, along comes NOSTR with a glimmer of hope. It perfectly aligns with our values of freedom, and we're excited to support it even though we might never have as big a reach here as on Facebook or Twitter.

Although NOSTR is still a relatively small community, we're fully committed to making it our primary platform for sharing our journey and experiences. Who knows, maybe we'll be able to open doors for other freedom-loving folks to join us on this adventure!

Beautiful family, interesting lifestyle. At se dari. 🙂

Testing Damus and Iris, both are ok, but Damus seems to be ahead a little bit in some areas or I do not get it yet. What app do you use? Thx

😀 with lifetime charging or without?
