At least for some percent of people glancing at this nostr:npub1e4qg56wvd3ehegd8dm7rlgj8cm998myq0ah8e9t5zeqkg7t7s93q750p76's diagram would give them a little more insight on how Nostr works. Where should we place it to make that happen?

this is cute!!

iiuc blockstream has basically been eating this cost, maybe at some point tx fees onchain will cover it + help payback what they already spent

definitely a good question about incentives to run sidechains tho โ€” unless youโ€™re taking margin on swaps to/from the chain or issuing a token there isnโ€™t really much incentive to run one, afaict

I asked Adam about the logic for it last year, he told me the fees go to pay for rotating the federationโ€™s onchain utxos, to refresh the timelocks

if they dont get regularly rotated, eventually the onchain funds can be spent by a smaller emergency keys multisig

itโ€™s a normal cost for any multisig thats using contracts with timelocked emergency spend path. basically every corporate structured multisig works this way, see anchorwatch contracts

fwiw instagibbs built a mostly functional version of eltoo using APO in a fork of CLN. APO has prototypes but no stack of plebs calling for its activation.

i wonder why that is

hate that i feel like im taking style notes from a saylor post ๐Ÿ˜น

I cant remember exactly but I think it was Veblen who gave Marx props for coming up with a rhetoric that was extremely correct if you assume the underlying philosophy and almost impossible to refute otherwise

Of course Veblen then goes on to mock it with his Leisure Theory of Value
