To kind of summarize some of the recent #Bluesky drama. Yesterday Bluesky changed their Terms of Service to require binding arbitration. Users are unhappy, but there's nothing they can do about it because Bluesky is not decentralized and there is no place they can go. Today, Bluesky banned a user for wishing ill of J.K. Rowling for her anti-trans hate. Users are very unhappy, but there's nothing they can do about it because Bluesky is not decentralized and there is no place they can go.

So, you may have heard that JD Vance is "The Most Blocked Person On Bluesky" (https://www.avclub.com/jd-vance-mass-block-bluesky).
He is now blocked by over 100,000 users. So with 36,800,000 users, that's a whopping 0.2% of #Bluesky users that are blocking JD Vance. Just sayin 🤷
To #Bluesky users. CEO Jay Graber has said #Bluesky is decentralized. If you don't like what the company is doing, you have the option to move your account.
So, for instance, if the company welcomed and verified JD Vance, as has now happened, you could move elsewhere.
Well folks, this was a lie, #Bluesky is actually a centralized platform. There is no place on Bluesky to move to.
But you do have one option. Move to the Fediverse. A truly decentralized defensible public social media network.

In one media article after another we read about how Threads and Bluesky are "decentralized social media platforms." Guess what, you are not "decentralized" if you only have one "centralized" server.
Can we please stop giving #Bluesky and #Threads #Meta credit for being #decentalized platforms when all they have done is announce the intention to actually someday be decentralized. Both are currently entirely #centralized corporate platforms.
