It was a deregulated grass roots environment
Fair points, America is a different beast. Yet, I stay hopeful for the future 😊✌🏼
This kind of stuff could be SO rad if it was FOSS and Privacy maximal 😔 I dream of that day
I get the sentiment, but it's not strictly true. I would argue that the French empire had no conscience and yet the non violent techniques employed by the Sufi Saint Ahmadu Bamba and his followers led to the liberation of the city of Touba in Senegal which is still a semi-autonomous city state and eventually the whole country from the French (though they still control the currency, a problem for BTC to fix 😏)
Worship is deeply engrained in the human psyche, studies have started to explore this idea (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19471985/), it is almost hardwired into our way of being. I think history and anthropology shows this again and again.
So be very careful of what you elevate to the highest station. Do not erect a false idol. And better to remain agnostic than atheist (I don't have enough faith to be an atheist 😂).
For most people these days it seems to be themselves, Money or sex. But regardless of whether you think we created God or God created us. I argue that from a logical point of view, given that we are hardwired for worship, you better put some unfallible, benevolent being on your throne or get rekt.
This is deep and I am all for it! I was having almost exactly these thoughts about three days ago after a dream in which I met every friend I ever made in my life in a field which ended up being washed over by a huge wave but it was not in any way sad or terrifying it just was, and then it wasn't. A lesson on impermanence perhaps...
I'm grateful for everyone I have met in my life as I am the sum of all those parts.
Keep up the introspection. ✌🏼👌🏼
The seemingly ever growing phenomenon of the Man-child.
There really is no excuse now with so much cooking content on the internet.

As far as I understand, it's circumstantial. If you're using weed to suppress discomfort or to numb feelings then you're more likely to find it addictive/have withdrawals as you are using it as a cope. Though with weed the withdrawals are usually psychological (as opposed to physical withdrawals from many harder drugs).
If your life is otherwise generally pretty good and you just enhance those feelings with weed then it is unlikely that you have any addictive traits toward it. It's a question of "what is the root cause of addiction" generally despair, loneliness or perceived hopelessness (to grossly oversimplify the topic).
These are the discussions that I like. Get outside the intellectual hype-bubble. Excellent episode.
(I got here by a tweet from nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a, so thanks! 😉)
Amiin, there can be too much preaning and singing to the choir in this community sometimes, I really appreciated the change. Underestimating risks is one of the surest ways to fail.
Matthew Kratter, you are my favourite toxic maxi 😂 I really respect how you turned your platform around, keep up the good work!
This is an interesting point of view. I hope you are correct regarding Nuclear power 👍🏻
Hello Nostr,
I've been lurking in the shadows for a few weeks and decided it was about time for my first post. So here's a view from the office for you.
