Just a pleb on a never ending journey of education and discovery. I love to tinker and try new things. The ocean waves are my second home, this tragically means I keep losing my sats in boating accidents... 🌊🛥🤷🏻‍♂️ GNULinux/FOSS/FOSH enthusiast, BTC maxi, XMR curious, Nostr Maxi.

I've been thinking about getting one of these. Main reason being that it's cool af and a little bit of the network's security in my home, but i'm curious... has anyone ever won a block with one of these? And if so how many?

These were my exact thoughts on seeing this post from Relai... 🤣

I mean to be fair, as far as i'm aware. Eurozone regulations make it almost impossible to have a truely KYC free exchange (P2P excluded of course) so at least Relai's "KYC light" model isn't full doxx out the gate.

But I did lose respect for Relai when one of my good friends got his account locked with a Full KYC request even though he had not surpassed the trade limits and Relai would not give him a good reason for the block and request... 🤔

Have you tried the sea worms? 🤣 I don't know what they're actually called but they're long, thin, battered and taste like squid, very salty and great with beer most bars seemed to serve them. The local honey rum is also fantastic.

I've been there when I spent some time in the Las Palmas shipyard. There are some beautiful spots, one bar near that square makes a really good Black Paella (the local way) and serves a great selection of beers. There is also one street in the city (Taxi drive away) where on Thursday evenings all the bars in the street give away free snacks and sell really cheap mojitos and sangria. Start at one end of the street and you'll be equally stuffed and wasted by the time you get to the other end. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately I don't remember any names 😂 but if you ask around people will probably tell you the places 👍🏻

GA Fellow plebs.

How are we today?

I personally recommend stock Fedora for beginners. That being said Ubuntu or Linux Mint are also good places to start. My best recommendation is to just do your own research because that will be a big part of your Linux journey. No one can tell you what is right for you so your just going to have to "fuck around and find out" and considering it's a macbook that you're not currently using you don't have anything to lose. Just go for it.

Where there is will there is a way. From what I understand some macbooks are easier than others but you can find tutorials on YouTube.

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

As with everything it's about nuance, have a HODL which you onoy add to and never sell. Then keep a "checking account" open on lightning for buying cool shit from cool people
