I view grass fed livestock production as the sale of sunlight.
It's a layer 3 sale of sunlight. (Raw sunlight, grass, meat/animals). Everything that can be bought and sold is a sublayer to the base layer of sunlight.
As the livestock and pasture manager it is my job to balance the production of the plant with the performance of the animal to capture maximum productive sunlight in the pasture.

As you progress into the cattle business (assuming you're doing calving and finishing like us) you'll have steers you could use as companion animals as well.
Depending upon your target calving/lambing windows you try to hit you'll probably have periods where the ram and/or bull get put into service leaving the other alone.
We target shooting lambing and calving which means summer cattle breeding and late fall sheep breeding.
Pigs will want to bond with ruminants but it's not a strong mutual desire in our experience--depends on the personalities between the species.
If kept with a ram, the bull will bond with the ram.
My wife has one of her girlfriends visiting for the weekend with her kid. I've been a helping hand here and there and playing with my kid (the friends kid, like most other kids, think I'm some scary monster 🤷), but otherwise I'm trying to stay out of the way to let them catch-up and hangout.

We won't agree on much here then. Livestock production for human consumption is the core of our business. Thinking livestock are sentient beings is a very nuanced discussion.
Lard makes great, clean soaps, hygiene, and beauty products too. Many uses beyond food.
I've got seed oils for you. I keep them on hand for chainsaw bar oil, but they make a good barter item for encounters with the uninformed 😉
