Pokey users. How much battery life does it use for you?
Discussion
less than amethyst (0.9% for the last few hours, while amethyst used 1.7%)
Makes sense. It should be way less.
9% thus far today
You probably use more than the average user, you being Derek Ross and all. I bet your Pokey is exhausted from relaying all those notifications.
The hokey pokey usually uses all my energy.
19% Amethyst
18% Pokey
Dunno. I've been plugged in all day. But I just unplugged so I'll see what looks like in a few hours.
as much as Amethyst. 1.5% of the battery in 20 minutes with unrestricted battery usage, changed to optimized battery usage instead of unrestricted, testing now
After 2hrs of battery use, Pokey hasn't even used enough battery to show up on my app list. That means it's consuming less than 0.1% which is really good. For reference, Amethyst has used 1.4% in the same time.
I'm kinda concerned about privacy. You could put anyone's npub in Pokey and get their notifications including content. It would probably be wise to change it to use nsec or Amber to ensure that only the npub holder can configure it for their npub.
Sure, but the change in the client won't change anything. Anyone can watch your notifications if your inbox relays allow them to. Especially if you use public/free relays.
Yeah, but this makes it really easy. Just install the app and plug in the npub of the person you want to monitor. Even if it doesn't solve the greater issue, requiring authentication would close a pretty big door.
It's already easy. You can use any client to watch others. Just log into primal, amethyst, damus, etc.
Is it why I have no Play Services installed that I don't get any notification?
