I was replying to your comment about open source development. Bootstrapping is always a viable execution path, never said otherwise. My point was there is a crucible by having accountability to others that is not the same as a volunteer software project.
Entirely different to work in the open source world versus the startup space. Very valid to pursue, but it’s not the same kind of forcing function to compare building open voluntary software vs taking investor money and trying to build a product people pay money for.
Entrepreneurship is hard, and taking the dive over the past 2 years I have a much greater appreciation for those who try to build new things.
It’s much easier to have hot takes on the sidelines and judge others than to get your hands dirty and try to do hard things for yourself. Try doing hard things, it gives you a greater perspective in how the world works.
