Yeah itβs confusing, but also hilarious. A work body of mine tended to keep referring to his wife as partner. He is German and he kept using the male form of partner instead of the female form. We genuinely thought he was gay until he took a sabbatical cause his partner was expecting their first child. π
People I meet (usually no-coiners) tend to refer to their spouse as βpartnerβ. Did I miss a memo where husband/wife got phased out or is this a new privacy thing or something? π€¨ π€·
