There are a lot of very valid criticisms over there. The feeds, even when you attempt to curate, are shit. I see you, Derek and McShane every third note and I've put time into use. If I'm used to X, I'm out after 10 minutes due to frustration. That is not even getting into very little return engagement as most of the Bitcoiners here stick to their cliques. Lastly, until mainstream interests are common to see -- sports is a big one from my friends that are on X, it will continue to be fringe just like Bitcoin.
Exactly. I'm noticing that most of the spam/junk notes on public relays is coming from bots and people that are not NIP-05 verified.
Are there any #nostr clients that let you filter out non NIP-05 notes?
Biz idea for a #nostr developer. Build a white-label solution for brands to build their communities on the protocol. Assume an app/relay combo where they could paywall, but it could onboard millions to nostr. Content/feature set would be king. Selling point is they could wipe portion of advertising budget by having captive audience in network they curate.
Really wish the #Bitcoin community would stop the narrative that you own #BTC "by proxy" by investing in MicroStrategy or any of the big miners. No, you don't... you don't own shit. That is something that needs to be stomped out heading into 2024.
I'll go one further. The "town square" bullshit was DOA when you could just pay to get a megaphone.

Psyop is a word that can go away at any time.
EVERYTHING in life is essentially a psyop. Almost everything leads back to how people think and the decisions they make. We didn't need another fucking label for everyday, pedestrian human behavior.
So using one word is no bueno but using a potentially equally offensive word is okay because society? Or because you don't deem that word to be as bad as the other.
This is why policing language is a fool's errand.
You could also make a much easier argument that slurs related to mental illness are significantly more potent despite "societal baggage" due to the stigma surrounding it, the volume of people affected, etc.
But again, fool's errand. Sticks and stones. If someone turns me off with their language, I simply do not engage with them.
