With IEMs, you can get whatever cable. I had Moondrops with this cable. It was a sick setup... https://a.co/d/2vnYLF2
If you are ready to start into the In Ear Monitor (IEM) game, the wired Shure 215 or Moondrop Starfield are some good starters at relatively decent price. The IEM route can get very expensive... (I think the 215s have a wireless setup if you are interested)
Also look into running nixbitcoin (https://nixbitcoin.org/) which leverags the Nix package manager and NixOS (https://nixos.org/). NixOS allows for modular abstractions to keep running a node highly customizable and maintainable while limiting permissions. The Nix package manager is a community of passionate individuals that are constantly performing security hardening evaluations. nixbitcoin is a number of Bitcoin and Lightning modules built on top of NixOS with the same goal of security hardening. Makes for a secure, harden, modular node setup without too much hassle.
You could just run a node as a VM on your NAS as well. Depends on how much you are running already on it and how capable it is.
You should be able to run Start9's EmbassyOS and run a Bitcoin/Lightning node easy enough with those specs.
EmbassyOS makes it pretty easy to backup channels to an external NAS as well. If you want the simplist setup, that's probably the way to go.
I have been buying Mini Desktop PCs off eBay with at least a 6th gen i5, 8GB RAM, and then buying a cheap 1TB SSD off Amazon. Can get total cost down to around $120 if I can find a good deal. ($80 mini PC + $40 1TB SSD)
If you want to go the mini desktop route, here is some copy/pasta I use for other recommendations...
For an easy setup/low cost Bitcoin full node:
Mini Desktop models ($80-$100):
- Dell OptiPlex [7040/7050] Micro
- HP EliteDesk/ProDesk 800 [G1/G2/G3] Mini
- Lenovo ThinkCenter [M700] Tiny
CPU: (included with mini desktop)
- i5 (min 6th gen, quad core, 2.5Ghz+)
RAM: (usually included with mini desktop or is upgradeable)
- 8GB
Storage: ($40)(sometimes included with mini desktop, but generally not 1TB)
- 1TB SSD (can be less if running pruned node)
Software:
Start9 EmbassyOS (https://github.com/Start9Labs/embassy-os)
Known working hardware by Start9:
Purchase via eBay. Can also get through Amazon and Newegg , but not as cheap.
Just submitted our project Cat Herd, a meetup scheduling system built with #nostr!

Loving the Atlanta #bitcoin community. I spent the last week in Costa Rica but my 7 teammates were chugging along with this! For several of them, this was their first hackathon ever.

And especially #[6], who coded a large chunk of the relay and I forgot to mention his name in our demo video. 😂
It's always a successful hack for us when we get people together to build.
Way to go ATL BitDevs! So cool! Zapping⚡⚡⚡⚡
Still need to sell your chair!😆
LFG Jack! Rooting for ya!🫂
I got both! Was only $25 more for the pair, so I had to do it! 😆 Slowly building a collection. Will send pics when I get them up!🤙
Sick animation! #[1] I just bought the sovereign electronics posters on Blockstream's store. Will look nice alongside the TABconf poster I have! 🤙
Awesome! 🫂
