I love walking in the bush back to camp in the pitch black during hunting season. The forest at night is still alive. The stars still hang in the same constellations they did when I looked at them 45+ years ago, tromping through the bush with my Dad. Orion. Cassiopeia. Ursa Major. Polaris. We were fortunate to grow up in an area with no predators. Now in our new area have to I give it some thought. Kind of heightens the experience. But I am always grateful that I was made comfortable in the woods at night from the time I could run. Own the night 👊🏽

Hey Chris, great episode. I think your rebuttal of JL’s criticisms of Bitcoin was right on point. Another thing to consider is that, even for someone born in 1971, it was still 1989 before that person left high school, 1992-1994 before they exited post-secondary, and perhaps another ten years after that before their income achieved a level that started generating any positive flow. Especially if student debt was part of the equation. By 2004 we were already only 4 years short of the GFC. The last group of people that made it ten years into their careers before the Nixon shock were born in 1937. Makes your head spin.

Imagine selling an asset that has a 60-70% CAGR to pay off a loan on a depreciating asset that you’re borrowing on at 3-5%. Financial illiteracy is a huge problem, and it’s been by design.
