This was my first crowdfunding campaign, and it has been more work and headaches than I had ever imagined. I love Alonso. I'm constantly checking X for updates on his free agency, and I even liked Fielder. But if this is true, reminding teams about Fielder's deal might not be a strong foundation for negotiation. Fielder was younger and had better numbers when he signed, and it's probably one of the best examples of using caution when signing long-term deals, especially for first basemen. He barely made it halfway through and retired after 5 seasons.
