- Many bitcoiners think bitcoin-based eCash is "just banking with a bitcoin extension" instead of a bitcoin solution in its own right
- eCash people see it as a fantastic scaling solution with a straightforward tradeoff balance
My take:
While it has many similar features to traditional banking like custodianship, it is so much more advanced(easy audits, excellent privacy, offline transactions, bearer asset, easy integration with LN etc.) that it is either ignorance or bad faith to try to associate it with fiat banking today.
People will realize that #CashU and #Fedimint are strictly improving the lives of bitcoiners!
While the devs make fantastic counter arguments, I think we should send in more people who can really stress the main benefits of eCash because devs often fall short on rhetorics.
It doesn't make sense to start a new market place outside of #nostr at this point.
People not embracing nostr will regret their foolish decision. It's all just fear of free market competition.

[My idea](https://github.com/Pleb5/bitcoin-troubleshoot) :
P2P market for bitcoiners and troubleshooters with an open-source nostr client. "Tickets" get resolved for sats, negotiated by the parties.
You post a ticket, people send you offers with their price structure. Troubleshooting in DM or anywhere outside nostr.
I'll ship it in a few months for testing.
The internet was always supposed to be about people, not machines.
Learn private key management. It's your ticket to the realm of sovereign individuals.

The argument I tend to get from altcoiners against bitcoin. Disagree there.
If an idea only works with closed source, I don't think it's a good idea.
Closed-source apps cannot be the future, even if they integrate bitcoin.
I am generally sceptic about false promises of "opening up later". This is not just about publishing source code. The whole product will have to be fundamentally different.
The people behind these project are afraid of competition. If you build on fear right from the start, you are for ever doomed.
Compete or step aside. Build #FOSS products. Many have done it successfully.
I believe in ASICS:
