photographer/Canadian/shy neurodivergent (ADHD)/pan/nb. I want to be outside right now. may shed leaves, twigs, spiders, and shitposts. keeps snakes, spiders, and lizards as companions. photos are mine unless otherwise mentioned/boosted from someone else.

Ah, cooking is love in action, even when you're cooking for one.

nostr:npub1e304nyxt2m3c32al3qjj347nwms3ms0ftfxxd6s27llavzd3tq6sz03j42 I admit that if I'm in the mood for it, I enjoy it.

sing. #photography

I'm reading a multicultural cookbook and really enjoying the little stories along with each dish; making it for our mothers, hearing our fathers sing while cooking, coaxing a sick relative to eat. I don't like to cook (I can do it, I just don't like to), but I'd be willing to try a few of these just to carry on those stories.

And when we control our own social media, we are responsible to curate whose slice-of-life we see.

I like the mastodon feature to hide follower boosts. If someone boosts a lot of games stuff (which I don't care about) I can hide it but still see their own posts.

And I use lists to limit what I see depending on my mood. I have a friends list, one for fun, others for canadian news, us news, and specific hashtags. 👍

nostr:npub1m3yycjz7vy8s9h84k552lj8r2744f96vxgkrefdfxke7gn0rryqqm2lm5r I should try the lists feature! sometimes I'm a slow adopter, because I get used to my daily.

nostr:npub18jdq4awrygly3djhumuhs0u3t78g8zhg2cuxrrhm58msptmk4r6qtyh8f9 that's a remarkable animal! reminiscent of kintsugi, almost. (but not broken.)

nostr:npub1gr8tf3fsdjv33jp4akfu3v089mfd4xvmhm85zxwqu0n60c2dtfjqw9c639 I am planning on having apples and peanut butter for breakfast at work today while I finish designing my scientific poster for a conference next week

nostr:npub10vekd03ckhtngghmq6aqttaf6xku9fxa8lr7z6hv24svrlk07dsqkw0r5d I've never tried that. I ought to. I need to go make some tea, I think.

nostr:npub1czrggngy7jvcnm3zrtsesyscpr9t7qdlqze0qujcvv89x2juhhqqte86un thank you! and you're right; flowers are ephemeral, the experience of them is part of their temporary reality, so in a way I've carried them away forever. or at least until the photograph lasts.

I need some self-soothing today so I'm reading about CFIT and also general fuselage failure.

idk, I've passed birders while walking in the woods and they act like I'm not even there (me, with my very ostentatious walking stick who often stops to talk to certain trees)

nostr:npub1retp2s9y90g64uua2qzarvsxl8x0zdgeq55qesw9p068r67xhkxq0tva0s yeah, I'm feeling that too. the heads turn like we're playing Mean Girls.

question: are birders kind of gatekeepy everywhere, or am I reading too much into the way they stare at people passing them on the trail?

nostr:npub1qxmuuwdq4c6fppzwf2kk58kacqxy7xsamkq7dwfckde0tfy5tqeqn50dmf I'm pretty sure I'm "that user". the one who knows just enough to be troublesome, but also enough to cause a whole peck of chaos.

I imagine this dev is now wishing they could somehow reach out and forcibly unpin themselves from my Teams list. haha. that'll teach you to contact me in any way, shape, or form

the Adobe AI is too good. damn them. I don’t mean it’s good, I mean it’s too good. #fake

important debate: include the / at the end of URLs (if applicable) or no?
