An ssh tunnel is similar, it's still point to point. The only reason I can think of to use tor is if your threat model justifies having no direct connection between your home IP and your VPS IP.
Ok I misuderstood the problem, I thought it was about configuring nginx to listen to the tor onion service which is much simpler.
I get why would someone want to do this but imo a wireguard tunnel is preferable.
I don't get what's so hard, just a few lines of config. What am I missing?

I'm not sure how ACs work. Maybe they don't do it in-process since that's very limited but do it with a separate daemon that monitors OS syscalls?

gaming on linux is funny. we have so many nerdy tools I can diagnose issues with counter-strike 2 and tell Valve devs what is wrong. if their code was open source I could have probably fixed it as well xD

Except that the boosted reply might appear weird without the OP's context. It does not always work well.
The issue is that replies are in practice a semi-private conversation between you and the OP. If I wanted a private 1-on-1 chat, I would prefer a DM.
The ability to bring other people into a conversation is a crucial part of social media and why it's so powerful.
I don't know why that's a bad thing. If I wanted to talk to a wall, I would sign text files with gpg and leave them offline on my hard drive.
