The radiology departments at my local university hospital no longer recommends lead. Supposedly the data has not supported this practice for a while, but it was retained because of patient comfort.
Signal is great if you want to start a group chat amongst friends. But if some of us Anonstriches want to chat about natural rights but wanted to stay unknown to one another, weâd be better suited setting up a group on Simpx. Telegram group chats arenât really secure, and Telegram has a habit of censoring groups it doesnât like (RoboSats, of late). Simpx also allows you to manage servers in a way that Signal does not
Signal requires that you share a telephone number. SimpleX only requires that you share an address identifier, which is not tied to you in any way. And you can use separate addresses for separate people so that you cannot be identified if youâre talking with two buddies. It provides a more anonymous alternative to Signal in a format that approximates Telegram but which has greater security than Telegram.
Nostr is not appropriate for small group chats, and itâs not anonymous (relays can see IPâs if they do desire).
âThe National Security State is an instrument of class warfare, organized and designed to permit an elite, local and multinational, to operate without any constraint from democratic processes. This allows the bulk of the population to be treated as a mere cost of production.â

Bitcoin goes down, I get excited.
Bitcoin goes up, I get sad.
Such is the counterintuitive reasoning for a guy who exchanges âmoneyâ for a weird long number.
Iâm cleaning some miners tonight, so that tomorrow our brothers have a better chance of being free of financial tyranny.
Independent journalism to us means independent economics. And the core of that, why we think itâs possible, is the internetâŠand itâs the power of the web to raise money directly from people.â
Gore Vidal.
No doubt in anticipation of Bitcoin-Nostr symbiosis

What it says:
âBacked by the full faith and and credit of the United States Governmentâ
What it means:
âFaith is belief without facts, but we promise to pay you back using the debt we push on othersâ
Abraham Lincoln told us that threats to America would never come from abroad; they can only come from within.
From Lincolnâs Lyceum speech:
âHow then shall we perform it?âAt what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it?âShall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never!âAll the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years.
At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.â
Our social and economic shortcomings may be defined by careful analysis, deconstruction, and discussion. Dog-whistle politics presented as a succession of discursive phasesâŠNazi, Communist, Fascist, Racist, Big GovernmentâŠwhich aims to draw support by reducing any argument into slogans, vastly undermines our discussion of problems. When I see this rhetorical trick within an argument, those looking to seriously evaluate a topic lose interest
I think people get caught up on technical characteristics and reserve currency conversations. This is probably because many of us are all rich white guys, and tech and preservation of wealth is what is likely to interest us.
But Bitcoin is not just a technology. It is a means of communicating value over time and space, in a way that has never before been possible. The reason it is exciting is not because we can secure our progeny 1000 years from now, nor because we can prove to each other that it can never be changed. It is exciting because the majority of the world is unable to store work-value in a form that cannot be confiscated or inflated away, is unable to send value without fees, is unable to share value without permission, and is unable to relocate without landing, destitute and poor, on the other side of a border.
Bitcoin is not for us. As beneficiaries of US hegemony, our system isnât all that bad right now. Our banking system exports trillions in debt all over the world in exchange for natural resources and labor. The recipients of debtâŠIOUâs that cannot be repaid with any goodsâŠare the sad externalities of a system with a set of characteristics that Bitcoin solves.

Bitcoin transactions cannot be banned. A transaction is simply the exchange of some information about a coinâs whereabouts, which can be communicated as a long number, as twelve words, as a string of emojis, as a drawing, as a group of notes, etc.
To ban Bitcoin is to ban communication: to ban writing, to ban speaking, to ban drawing.
Real patriotism is the willingness to support the people, not the government. Nationalism has us substitute out love of brotherhood with love of military might and superiority
