i wonder if there's anything to be gained from being methodical about people you know and what skills they have and what projects they're doing and putting them in touch with each other like a kind of matchmaker

when it comes to things like introducing yourself to people and writing resumes, they always want you to tell a coherent story about a person that neatly fits into a box. and i don't fit neatly into a box because i can't really make up my mind about what it is i'm supposed to do. i'm 40 now and i'm still not very keen on filling a narrow role in someone's life or workplace as this or that person who does thing X and nothing else. i'm always looking for new things to do and my main trait is mental flexibility.

sometimes i look at FOSS tools and think "as a programmer with a domain knowledge and a sense of design, i could improve these user interfaces" but i end up ditching it because there's nothing in it for me. i'm poor and need to make more money, so that's my top priority.

now i wonder if there's a website where people can post their business ideas and what team roles would be needed to execute it, and also, separately, people can create profiles describing the kinds of roles they can fill, and then the site would try to match people to these business ideas.

i have a feeling that the degree to which the media reports on floods in Norway seem exaggerated or not depends on whether you're in an affected area or not. they basically red-zoned most of southern inland Norway ahead of the rain storm, but i don't think the floods have been *quite* that extensive?
