I let the bag of meatballs I bought sit in the fridge for too long. They didn't exactly go bad, but they started to taste... not great. So I threw them out.
A part of me doesn't want to join that CNA/LPN program I applied for. I have an interview on Thursday. It's a way to make a living. I'd be able to find work anywhere.
The part of me that doesn't want to do it has this idée fixe that it could do something great with its life, intellectually or artistically. "Could" though. I mostly do nothing, and no one cares. I have little to show for those ambitions.
The program would be the realistic option of turning a nobody into a somebody. It's a trajectory.
The temptation as a human to pull a Forrest Gump and just walk the hell away from everything and keep on walking until the ends of the earth.
Lofi Girl definitely lives in Europe somewhere, based on her window view. It looks like southern Europe - maybe Rome or Athens? Meanwhile, Synthwave Girl seems to live in northern Europe - maybe Berlin or Stockholm?

At times, I wonder if I should be an accountant. Me, with my terrible money management skills. But it's so much easier to solve other people's problems than your own. A friend of mine can't wean himself off the credit card. I told him to clip it. And he never gets around to doing the spreadsheets for budgeting. I'm so tempted to do it for him.

It's usually canola (rapeseed) oil I keep around the house. Olive oil isn't as flexible. Sometimes, I fry things at high temperatures, or I need oil that doesn't change the taste, etc.
The West does not appear willing to send more money and weapons to Ukraine. Saw an interesting figure the other day which shows that the EU has actually sent more money to Ukraine than the United States has. Europe's got the stronger interest in Ukraine but the weaker weapons industry.

No one wants me around. I find this unpleasant, but there is nothing I can do at the moment to change that. I don't want to die, so I have to stay afloat somehow. Alcohol numbs it in the meanwhile. If no opportunity is there, and one can't be of use, one might as well die. That's the quick solution. Alcohol prevents suicide. You do it to stay afloat.
Shocker: You have to do actual work to earn money.
Like groceries, plumbing, nursing, fixing things. You can't educate your way out of that.
Man, it doesn't take much to disrupt public transportation in Oslo these days. A little bit of snow and buses, trains and trams get stuck. What is going ON? This is NORWAY. There isn't even all that much snow, and all the systems are failing. The tram I'm in can't move because the automated door system is glitching. It doesn't like the snow and cold. Everything is fine, mechanically speaking. Buses can't climb hills because we made good winter tires illegal. Jesus Christ. 🙄
I think I can continue as a developer on the condition that I'm given work that's somewhat above my skill level, not well below it. I was a senior developer in my final position before calling it quits in 2020.

Wondering if one of these should be on my wish list.
We've moved the dirty industries away from ourselves so we can pretend they don't exist. Out of sight, out of mind. Europe is looking to electrify and to reduce its dependence on China for minerals. That means more mines in Europe and more pressure on natural habitats. You can't have cake and eat it too. You're either green or industrialised and believing that both are possible at the same time is a pipe dream.
