Government announces their plan to tackle grooming/rape gangs which includes a partial U-turn after two weeks of growing public outrage. Elon Musk posts a hope it is a genuine attempt to tackle the issue and Sammy Woodhouse, a survivor and leading campaigner, immediately advises it is not.

The Government are not just being incompetent on this, they are making things worse for survivors and fueling conspiracy theories.

I found it all very depressing over the last few days. Disagreeing is fine but the smearing, goading and persistent bad faith interpretations of old and new social media posts is horrible. It achieves nothing and is just a distraction. The same people seem to have the same basic spat every few of months. 😫

My advice is to serve up whatever you want unless it was the new potatoes that killed your father. That would be bad!

I have spent the last few months tip-toeing round my very emotional sister. All the family are upset about my Dad who is now at end of life care and we have been so respectful that at the same time her husband (who we all love) has been diagnosed with cancer. My sister has a lot to cope with right now but things are even worse for my mum.

We can't all keep acting like we are in the middle of minefield all day and every day. Sometimes just being normal is the best thing.
