green is a very sketchy wallet - you are offered options to use your own node, but I have thus far failed to log into a wallet without giving permission for the app to contact certain blockstream servers.

As people rightly observe, that's just bank propaganda. When money is not plentiful, people will again start to be mindful about spending/investing it. Innovation/enterpreneurship will find a way to create value nomatter the amount of money. Regulations and licenses are the real killers of progress.
This line of thinking is also gov propaganda - credit expansion fueling budgetary spending and vague measures like GDP helps the state collect more taxes and also continue keeping people dependant on its social programs, none of which are benefitting the businesses keeping people from an arbitrary poverty line.
When the money is deflationary a bigger chunk will be kept in savings, meaning more of it will be available for investments in subjectively good undertakings.
