ugh, I feel like those who are riding the copium of LN should provide such a disclaimer, blogs videos and more. I don't know anyone irl with enough liquid they'd want tied up in channels unless more irl purchases used LN. LN only scales with some form of custodial at my current understanding, I can't see another way around it. I also don't think I'd encourage having that much in UTXOs available in a hot wallet, that's my issue. My limit for hot wallet is like 600-700k stats total.

Lightning devs are really bad at fudding their own bags. This is why there is so much ecash hate. We will need to overcome this myopic attitude in order to progress the bitcoin ecosystem to where it needs to be for mass adoption.

Agreed on the benefits of Apple hardware. I have been a long time user because they just work and have never caused me major headaches...until now.
My hope is that a linux laptop company will be unable to abuse market monopoly power to extort me and leverage state monopoly on violence to intimidate free market competitors from undercutting their extortionate pricing models. They have to compete fairly in the free market, unlike Tim Apple. This aligns with my values and I get a little bonus nerd cred for running on Linux. :)

I had a lot of problems when I tried to run Ubuntu on a Dell xps years ago.
Wow, Apple lost a customer for life today.
My laptop screen broke for no apparent reason yesterday. Today I learn that the laptop is 60 days out of warranty. Sticker price $650 for repair (lol no).
When I got in contact with a 3rd party repair shop they let me know that Apple has hard blocked screen repair on newer models by locking the part ID to the motherboard. Oh and also the repair shop owner is currently being sued by apple and had the police and the local Apple manager banging on his door at 1am about a laptop.
Enough is enough. 🙄 I guess I have to find a loaner laptop to deliver my presentation next week (which is a Keynote file). Then I will be in the market for a linux laptop.
