Slow-living cardiologically challenged Fenlander trying to cram less and less into each day. I write about cars but not as much as before. Electric is my thing (EV-ing since 2013). Life-long Labour member of a centrist persuasion. English of Welsh extraction. Interested in Germany (lived there twice). US politics/CNN fan. Like cats but I don’t have one myself. Yesterday I explained the final facelift carried out on the Rover 25 in 2004. That was designed to address the absence of the R30 replacement model that was lost when BMW sold Rover in 2000. R30 was also intended to replace the Rover 45, which instead received last-throw-of-the-dice tweaks similar to those carried out on the 25. But the story isn’t quite yet over. I captured this facelifted 45 at tge Great British Car Journey recently.

For a fourth day in a row, #davidsdailycar is declared a chod-free zone as we survey the voluptuous curves of Mercedes’ stupendous 1966 SLX design study, a mid-engined sports car concept by Paul Bracq and Giorgio Battistella that foreshadowed the company’s later series of C111 test-bed vehicles - of which more tomorrow. I believe this is a 1:1 model rather than a running car. I took the photo at #TechnoClassica in Essen in 2019. #Mercedes #WeirdCarMastodon #PaulBracq
