Can anyone point me to the best resource for learning the finer details about using Nostr? ( i.e. how to tag people, what is a relay and how did I get them , etc )

Dropping some science on the garden today.

I've been testing a pair of these plant sensors for the last few weeks and decided they were useful enough to get more. During testing I found that sensor 2 showed odd readings for light level. Placed right next to each other, when the light level was below 10k both sensors showed approximately the same value, but above 10k sensor 2 was off by a factor of about 2.75. It still followed the same pattern, so it seems like a calibration error.

I got 6 more sensors and placed them all next to each other. Now I'm giving the sensors a chance to stabilize and accumulate data. We'll see how consistent the readings are before putting them in their final locations.

I had to do this. I could have made something much nicer, but the point had to be made. This is for all the Americans who say "I want #chickens , but I don't have a #coop yet".

Chickens don't ask for much. I slapped this #chickentractor together with stuff I just had laying around. I didn't even use a tape messure. You can find materials at least as good as these at the dump, construction sites, and in some old lady's back yard who wants it gone. It would be better had I used screws instead of nails, and had I put some bracing in the corners. I will do some of that later. And probably add a door. This works for now.

Americans are wasteful and lack #creativity . Be #resourceful , and take advantage of that.

What a week this has been. How do you fix lack of drive, how do you fix lack of passion, lack of loving something enough to make it a career. Not relationships. And when you do want to start learning something new, what if u r so far behind, like at least 40 years behind, and have no clue where to even start. U want to ask for help but you know you do someone will steal your ideas. What is the point of having ideas if you cannot trust anyone to help you bring them to life?

I just wanted to drop a line and let y'all know I'm alive. I'm sure this is a relief to do many of you. Been pretty busy with life, as it goes.

I just have the greenhouse another hair cut. Harvest number two...not that I'm harvesting number 2's.

This morning I was out surveying everything, and noticed that the little volunteer chile piquin plant has some peppers on it. That little thing must have sprouted from the compost I put around that new pecan tree. The chickens look happy and have plenty of shade where they can escape from the sun. I put a kiddie pool in there for them to enjoy. And then as I was getting ready to come inside, I got stung in the arm by something. I barely got a glance at it as I knocked it off my arm, then I saw it in a pool of water where I was standing. Then I saw another one flying around, and snapped this pic of it. Is it just a yellowjacket? The sting is still burning my arm, i need to put some comfrey salve on it. So the first pic is the chile piquin, then chickens, then that wasp or whatever it is that stung me. #grownostr #nature #permies #chickens #countrylife
