Some stream of consciousness, food for thought, prompted by the metaphor dice 🎲✍🏻
Death is a Well-Worn Curse
Each of us wears it
Some on their sleeves
Others hidden
Beneath a facade of eternity
We’re all aware of its presence
And yet there is a hush around it
As if our own suspension can keep it at bay
As if speaking its name will invite it home early
Many do not befriend death
They fear it, resent it
We all try to interpret its greater meaning
We’re terrified that it may just be
Like anything else
It just is…
No
We need to glamorize it
Decorate it
Give it meaning
Speak of it as if it is a grand rite of passage
Something to earn, a reward for a life well lived
Or a punishment for one wasted
But isn’t it all the same?
Rot, decay…
The mind shuts off
All is nothing
Existence becomes non-existence
Back to square one, ground zero
Zero, the infinite
Death is possibilities
We speculate
Are even mystified by its mystery
Allure, even
What truly lies beyond it?
We wonder…
We watch each other age
Death slowly growing upon us
And we try to wear it with grace
We say it’s just nature’s way
Nothing can last forever
But existence itself, right?
Or does that someday die too?
And then what?
For everything to just… cease
And no thing to witness the nothing
Is it then nothing witnessing itself?
Where is consciousness?
Can that too exist on its own, unattached to anything?
We all are death waiting
Death walking around
Decorated in jewelry
In cloth
Its hair and nails done
Death, sitting on a comfortable sofa
Death, opening the fridge
Creating a purpose
Creating something
Absorbing existence while it can
We dress it up in all our stories
Though each one ends the same
It’s the stories we tell along the way
The chapters
That hold our attention and give us something…
Something to connect to, to relate with
To play with
A beautiful distraction
We act like it’s so far from happening
We need not worry
We are safe
For now
A moment of respite away from the inevitable end we all face

Thank you! I’ll take a peek 👀
Sure!
This piece is a culmination of symbols and themes I’ve been drawn to and experiencing lately.
Many of the elements present (Gothic styles, feminine imagery, snakes/serpents, moons) relate to connecting with your “shadow self” (or darker aspects that may be uncomfortable, scary, suppressed and/or painful like grief/trauma). They relate to deepening one’s intuition, inner wisdom and mysteries. All of these ideas connect to the “divine feminine” archetypes, in this case particularly with Hekate/Hecate and Medusa.
The serpent asks us if we are choosing to poison or heal ourselves, for both options are available in its venom. The serpent is also representative of kundalini energy (the “coiled serpent” at the base of our spine waiting to be awakened, our untapped deeper wisdom and greater potential, ready to uncoil and slither up through our being, activating and awakening our energy centers and opening us up for a deeper transcendent connection to our higher selves or spirit. The serpent is the shedding of one’s old skin (outmoded ways of thinking, behaving, etc. that no longer serve our highest potential and calling) and being essentially rebirthed and transformed to a new life, a “new you”.
As a whole, this piece represents the experience of retreating inward to a meditative space to receive deeper wisdom and intuitive connection to one’s innate strength and natural empowerment.
It is about choosing to face and even embrace the dark despite the fear of it to understand it on the deepest possible level. This gives the power and courage to walk through the dark in order to grow more whole and to create a torch from within to light the way. It is about facing one’s fears, pains and uncertainties with courage, and by so doing allowing oneself to be empowered rather than defeated by these things.
I value equality in general for all walks of life, and I believe titles like “feminist” actually create more of a divide, an “us” vs “them” which can become an anger-fueled over-correction that breeds a false sense of empowerment. At least, that’s how a lot of people out there have begun to use such things. When it comes to the Divine Feminine, I’m not referring to just women. The Divine Feminine, just like the Divine Masculine, is an archetype that anyone can connect with within themselves. We ALL have masculinity and femininity within, doesn’t matter what you are or decide to be on the outside. Duality exists inside each individual and it’s a balance of archetypal energy that makes us whole. To me it’s not about picking sides and giving titles or labels. It’s about connecting with whatever is calling to you at any given moment to learn what you can from the teachings of its symbolism. For me at this time I have been experiencing a connection to the “divine feminine” which simply means a deeper connection with the shadow self, one’s intuition and inner vision, and one’s deeper emotions. It’s all about going inward, which is a practice anyone can experiment with. Anyone can connect with this archetype and learn something within themselves. It’s an internal spiritual process.
Holy cow this image is such confirmation for my meditations and visions lately! The caduceus and the crown have been my LIFE! I love this!! ❤️
Hello! I am new to nostr and I’m excited to share my art and ideas moving forward into what feels like the new world and a great awakening!
In celebration of “awakening” I’d like to share a recent creation as my first post ~ awakening the divine feminine, the sacred kundalini, shedding old skins and bringing forth wisdom from the depths. 🌙🐍✨
