Servers once an hour for an “upgrade check”. It provides IP info but doesn’t functionally do anything aside from “check in”. Dozing your IP isn’t cool. Even if Umbrel is benign here, the data aggregation poses a risk if big daddy govt comes knocking.
I would assume a patch is incoming but users should ensure this. In the meantime, consider nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll instead.
