My node is alive. All from scratch. The LND migration was a massive success. 🫡

I just have a few extras bells and whistles to work on, but for the most part, I'm done and happy. What a huge stress relief 😮‍💨

I’m still syncing. Decided to swap out to 2TB and start again. Seems much slower though this time around. I’m thinking ISP is throttling me now.

I went the opposite way lol. I've been running a raspibolt setup for years but found the manual maintenance overhead was way too high... switched to Start9

I even scripted my raspibolt custom installs and everything 😅

I already update dozens of servers and applications a few times a month, what's a couple more? The networking on start9 is a pain in the ass to do anything custom, IMO. It's great, but it's not for me.

Are you using a raspberry pi for the server? How much resources is it using? ram/processor/network

Looking at the repo, it looks like this would install on a headless linux vm ok. Anyone done that?

Very interested in your experience setting this up, and how solid the performance is.

I was. And it's great! But it's not for me. I need more flexibility. I want to run my own LN address, from a Zappable address, that works with NWC. I can't do that with Start9.

Definitely wish I had held off and done more research myself. I jumped in, not knowing what I was really doing, and now I have an umbrel node set up that I just let sit there with no connections or sats because I'm afraid of the privacy concerns so it's just a pretty memepool explorer I guess 😅 maybe one day when things like opening channels and whatnot are more understandable for the layperson I'll jump on again. In the meantime sats for fun on alby and BTC on the main chain in cold storage for me
