My instance is single-user, and I feel like I basically just get a vague potpourri of posts from all over the place. I haven't defederated anyone and basically never block anyone.
The general feeling is that everyone is addicted to drama and negativity in general. The world is an awful place, and we go there to make sure we know just how awful it is and make sure we're not missing any awful headlines. In the absence of awful headlines, we fight each other over whatever we feel like is important to fight over.
Maybe I'm just now starting to see that. I wonder what the average fedi user's time on the network is? A month? A year? I started about a year and a half ago, and as I look back, I don't think I'm better off for the time I've spent.
Fedi has turned into quite the bucket of crabs, hasn't it?
As far as I can tell, fedi is a bunch of closeted pedophiles and trannies calling each other pedophiles and trannies all day.

"Make sure you buy lots of bitcoin so you'll have something to eat when the economy collapses"
Except most "influencers" don't really have talent for much else
Yes, especially when you're trying to not make something seem as bad as it is
Etsy is where you go to get a gift for someone if you don't want it to look like you just bought it off Amazon.
I don't have any zaps to give you, but here are 30 pieces of silver >:O
You're going native. Nostr is getting to you.
It's just venture capital money, none of it matters, it's even more made-up than the usual made-up money.
They'll get a bailout, dollars will be printed, and everyone will go on with their day at a slightly higher cost.
Bitcoin bros act all altruistic about "saving humanity from fiat bankers" until you ask a few questions and realize that they just want to replace that system with another system almost exactly like it, but where THEY are now the bankers.
Oh no, the latest and greatest food delivery app *WITH REWARD POINTS!* is going to be canceled, I'm so saddened
Nope, not equitable, but it sure seems awful that someone with the same intelligence, who happened to be born later, should be enslaved to the psychopaths who own everything.
And when these ultra-wealthy bitcoin HODLers die and their kids inherit their wallets, do you think they will hold to the same moral standards as their parents?
Do you not see the parallels between the current system and the utopian vision you're advocating for?
"It's bad when a tiny minority control all the wealth except when it's us"
Okay, thanks, that's all I needed to know about you
