I heard something about centralized "code of conduct" or something like that, which would apply to ALL bluesky instances, and I immediately lost interest.
Long live fedi, I guess. 🤷🏼‍♂️
For me the Nostr protocol *was* the evidence, but it turns out this thing is being run by soydevs who can't say no to retarded new features instead of letting a good thing live bloat-free.
I have a plan to query relays for "interesting" posts by keywords to maybe find where the interesting people are, if there are any. But even now, relays are starting to be encumbered by authentication and identity concerns due to spam, whereas it used to just be a websocket with some very basic JSON frames flying back and forth that anyone could code up in an evening or two.
Yep, I see you, #[5], and occasionally #[6]'s Nostr pubkey but usually it's her fedi profile through the bridge. That's pretty much it. I guess there's an occasional post by #[7] too. The rest might as well be ChatGPT bots programmed to spew pro-Bitcoin propaganda to each other all day.
I am beginning to conclude that Nostr is not going in a direction that suits my interests, though it sure did come close for a little while.
It's pretty much solely fedi users. The Nostr crowd have little appreciation for my perspective. "Good vibes only" and such, they don't like hearing about Bitcoin's inherent deflation and privacy problems, or, y'know, the rapid collapse of society and the need for everyone to learn real skills that don't involve computers in any way.
Yeah, this is silly. I originally wanted to stick it out because I like the simplicity of the protocol, but they keep adding new "NIPs" it seems like every other day, so that's becoming a moot point rapidly. Might be time to pack it up and head back to fedi.
Iris: "Oh sorry, were you reading that? Here's something else I just loaded, read this instead, also that other thing is long gone, don't try to find it"
Nostr was supposed to be a simple thing but we're already up to 95 or so NIPs, cool
Hi, sorry, I'm on Nostr and can only see Fedi people through the bridge, also I never get notifications for most things (and people don't get notified on things I post) so basically I just expect half the things I post to never be seen by anyone.
I really need to set my fedi instance back up. Haven't had a good religious hellthread in quite some time. All people around here talk about is how Bitcoin is gonna be worth millions in $(current_year)+1
Canada has been targeted by globohomo more than the US due to the richness of resources and relative lack of people to defend them, would be my guess...Also as a physical, not just digital, foothold into the US (though Silicon Valley is serving that purpose pretty well on its own so far).
Also because you people are just so darn friendly and accepting
Hah, yeah, sorry, it's an exaggeration. But when I look at the global feed it's just retards spamming Bitcoin memes. It feels like the Great Awakening crowd circa 2018 where it's a bunch of vague hope that something is going to go well aaany day now.
I can't see the thread, but the late Michael Heiser has a pretty good overview of gnosticism here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45BoAFKWqVg (he starts getting into it around 2:55)
The most interesting Nostr user by far
good times produce weak men
weak men produce bad times
I've had it explained to me like this...A woman (any woman) keeps, in her mind, a record of every negative thing she can think of about you. Shameful things you've said and done, things she didn't approve of, or even just times when you were mostly okay but (she thought) you should have been stellar instead. It's like a database.
At the right moment, usually during an argument or when she's trying to make you feel small, she lays it all out on a table in her mind, and she picks and chooses which things she thinks will damage you the most.
A woman who can keep herself from acting that way is rare, but they do exist.

Yeah, true. I hope maybe one person out there also decided to cut or stop drinking beer altogether, given the phytoestrogens and all that. The stereotype of the 40-year-old man with manboobs and a beer gut drinking a six pack exists for a reason.
When is the last time a "boycott" worked?
What ever happened to Parler? Is it dead completely? Something about Kanye? I expect they'd go trust the plan over there.
