spending some time today getting the “timeline” query plan working on damus android/notedeck/desktop. The multiplatform version of damus is build from the ground up using a local relay model, so basic things like querying your timeline is no longer a task delegated to the relay.

Here’s me testing and making sure the it’s matching up with damus ios. Looking good. I can view my nostr timeline on my linux desktop now. yay!

Yeah it’s still by far my #1. It feels the most professional and something a newbie would feel very little difference from a traditional client (say X) for basic use.

Primal might be the best choice for onboarding complete newbies into this ecosystem. But that doesn’t change that Damus is the THE client for the iOS users. Can’t wait for the new version. I’ll run it on my Fedora machine.

Why does Damus use so much disk space?

If I’m not mistaken, all things stored locally, in your device. There’s no server interaction from Damus’ end.

Just shovelling, I have been down & out for 2 days as my cold took its last swing at me. The good news is that hopefully we have our last snow on Friday (5cm) then things can swing cause the grow room is packed.

We almost come to midterm exams, but there’re lots of weeks to end the semester. Studies are on the track. I’ve been going to work in the lab of a very huge aerospace company for once a week. Gaining lots of new skills.

I hope I can use these skills in Btc ecosystem in some day.
