My brother died five years ago.
Since then I've not seen my nephew.
I reached out to his evil mother to see if we could meet.
"NO" came back.
I can't wait for my nephew to turn 18 so he can decide for himself.
Trump's tariffs on the EU are bad policy on many levels. First the most obvious, to quote Milton Friedman: tariffs are always a bad idea.
But the US tariffs on the EU are also a political nightmare. The EU needs to be reformed from the ground up, to reject the old political establishment that has been leading it to ruin for at least 10 years - prioritizing the "green" economy and degrowth, which ultimately impoverishes citizens and leads straight to socialism where entrepreneurs will work according to the orders of bureaucrats (EU funds), not the market. Europe is on the right track to change this in a few years, but a trade war with the US could delay reforms.
The US is the richest market in the world. The EU is a solid market, but getting poorer every year. When EU companies' access to the US market is restricted, they will MOVE out of the EU. Yes, companies have a tendency to move their plants and headquarters to where it is more profitable. Countries that have good trade agreements with the US and the EU will become the new paradise for investors. The EU will lose a lot.
This would finish off the European economy, and politicians will blame Trump just as Putin blames Western statesmen for the economic problems in his country.
Ursula von der Leyen and her team, who are already leading the European economy towards the abyss, will now be able to say that they are not to blame for the collapse of Europe, it is the wicked Trump.

Focus on improving yourself, not proving yourself.
And who prints the dollar??? The government
The government is always behind everything - inflation was caused and created by the Government and the EU and is the main culprit for brutal price increases. All the bullshit, all the frauds, all the corruption, all the crooks, all the idlers in the state and outside it are paid exclusively and only by the citizens. All that cost is built into the price of every product and service - you, the citizens, pay for everything in the end, ALL taxes in the state, all price increases and inflation for which the Government is responsible and caused (and make no mistake about that).
That being said, businesses are also taxed, and heavily, but they again shift the burden to the citizens because they raise the prices of products and services, which in the end are paid by the citizens. As long as we keep in mind that the Government is the main enemy of both business and the people, I think that every initiative, every protest, every boycott, every action that will move this sleepy and excessively suffering people into any collective, organized, joint, united demonstration is important, dissatisfaction and raising one's voice against this state of affairs. It may not be ideal and it won't change anything right away, but it's important that we start protesting en masse, in any way we can, and that everyone finally needs to show their teeth. In the end, there are few innocent people in these price increases, everyone is happy to ride the horse on this wave under the slogan "everything is getting more expensive" and citizens must start saying clearly - enough is enough. No matter how and wherever, but not attacking each other, but keeping in mind that the main and exclusive enemy of everyone is the Government and state administration.

The best years!
The 40s, 50s and 60s are the best years. In most cases, the children (if you have them) are not so young anymore, you have some financial security, you can devote more time to yourself, you more or less know what you want, you have more free time and different priorities.
The bad news is that in your 20s and 30s you neglected and abused your mind, body and spirit, so now you can't enjoy this wonderful period because everything hurts, you have health problems and you generally don't feel well.
The good news is that we are perfect machines and that lost health can be regained relatively quickly. All you need is will, a clear goal, a big enough why (I want to play with my children/grandchildren, I want to do sports, I want to feel and look better, I want nothing to hurt...)
Unfortunately, most people at that age accept this poor psychophysical state as a consequence of age, which is actually funny because I repeat: these are the best years.
Remember: the state you are in is a consequence of your relationship with yourself, not your age.
The body is a perfect machine, but it also has a good memory. And it only adapts to what you expose it to for most of your life.
And no, it is not normal to be 20 or more kilograms overweight, in pain and addicted to pills and opiates, not to mention other things.
Most people who do triathlons (a brutal sport and a test of physical and mental strength) are 40+ years old, which clearly indicates that these are the years when you should be in excellent physical and mental health.
I hope this text will encourage you a little, encourage you to think and get out of your comfort zone.
No matter what state you are in, it is never too late. The only question is whether you sincerely want to do it or if it is easier to make excuses.

Love is a sweet fruit, it doesn't grow out of nothing on its own, but someone has to plant it in you and water it every day so that the tree grows and on it the fruit that will delight the people around you.

Life is moments that we can remember.

I'm so happy for this man. He served two life sentences + 40 years without parole. The crime? He created a web for free exchange between people.
It was still in the phase when the web was still relatively new and many things that we take for granted today were not clear to everyone. Ross was a young man at the time and had a vision of creating a web marketplace where people would connect, collaborate, and exchange products and services. He had no control over their communication because he wanted them to have guaranteed privacy.
Criminals used this to sell drugs. People were killed, and the state blamed Ross for everything even though he had nothing to do with the crimes.
Trump kept a promise that I said before would be enough for me. I am really happy.

I turned off the road onto a muddy side road, got out of the car, and watched for a few moments as the sun reached out through the clouds and tried to touch the ground.
Some people can't understand that.

I look at #Elon #Musk (whom I consider a bit of a lunatic, btw), he's bursting with optimism, talking about a great future, a century of progress, etc. Whether or not all of this will be realized in the #US is another matter. And then I look at this here. My God. By "this here" I mean the EU. I see #Ursula, #Macron, Cost, Borell, Bretton... I haven't heard a single sentence from their mouths in 10 years that was anything other than a platitude, like the ones uttered by comrades at the summits of socialist parties 40 years ago. One of the most incredible things about today's EU is that it has robbed its people of all #optimism and #faith in a better #future and that it forces so much shit down their throats that everyone except the mercenaries and the strongest believers is disgusted. I literally don't know anyone outside that circle of the Brussels oligarchy, the #Euro scumbags and their overt or covert mercenaries around who sees a beautiful future (yes, banking analysts, you're scumbags too).
#Inflation, #deindustrialization, #insecurity, wars, Taliban invasion, #corporatism, stifling of all freedoms, #tyranny of the "profession", committees... the list goes on. And they don't want to stop. And when their agitprop opens their mouths, they literally ooze disgust when they talk about ordinary people and their needs and wants. But don't be fooled by my pessimism, yesterday the #EU commission organized a conference on the green transition... Maybe everything will be ok after all.π
The EU is giving up on parts of the green agenda, at least as far as the auto industry is concerned... it looks like, faced with the collapse of the auto industry, they will reduce their CO2 emission obligations.
What clowns! π€‘

Inflation is actually a sneaky tax on citizens and an effective reduction in the value of their money/labor/energy, and it does not happen by chance or due to some unforeseen external circumstances, but rather in order for states to sneakily, hiding behind that word and that concept (as if it were something general and out of control), additionally deliberately and systematically impoverish the citizens on whom they are already parasites and on whose backs they live, and for their own benefit.
So make no mistake - the EU is systematically exploiting and deliberately impoverishing us for its own profit. The only question is why would citizens allow this when the country and the people are actually the state (not the government), when all public institutions, despite their position, are actually owned by citizens because they all pay for them, and when the number and power of citizens is absolutely greater than the government and the system that, I repeat, systematically exploit and impoverish them.

There is no quick and easy solution to stop inflation, but there is a very easy solution to prevent it from happening: an aware and educated public.
When people realize that inflation does not happen in the store but in the government, only then will they be able to change something about it.
#government #inflation #freedom #fiat
Inflation is a phenomenon that people are not interested in until it hits them. Nobody cares when the money is spent. A few months later, everyone is crying - from where, how now? And suddenly everyone is interested in how inflation happened in the first place.
I guess that is some specific way of deceiving or self-deluding.
