The EU will hardly be able to effectively counter the new US tariffs. The most valuable companies in the world today are American technology giants based on artificial intelligence. Their high market capitalization reflects the huge global demand for their services.
Their products and services are also of key strategic importance.
The EU doesn't have many ways to burden them with import taxes, other than increasing the regulatory burden. But this could easily backfire and further reduce the competitiveness of the EU in the field of artificial intelligence.
But we have bottle caps attached and regulation that makes it difficult to develop AI. Long live the EU bureaucracy!

You are as old as you are physically capable.
There are politicians in power in European countries who are now looking at how to get rid of problematic immigrants, some were even elected for that reason - because they promised to solve it. But now they suddenly don't know how. 🙂
It never occurred to anyone that they could simply abolish social assistance for all those able to work, abolish state assistance for the children of the unemployed. And you would see how quickly that would be solved. Nobody would have to be deported, those who won't work would leave the country on their own.
