We're excited to announce a new initiative to get creators and journalists on to Nostr. The goal is to get a diversity of content on to nostr and show those creators and journalists that the nostr model of zaps and the new subscription content over nostr is a better alternative to centralized advertising driven platforms. #value4value
Please share this with creators and journalists you know who are already on Nostr and also those who might want to join. This will include both getting these folks on to the nostr apps which make sense for them, setting them up with a wallet, teaching them how to be successful on nostr, and importantly promoting them through a bunch of channels on nostr so they can build and audience.
We don't have the deep pockets of meta and tiktok, nor their powerful AI driven algorithms, but we've got something that can be more powerful, people.
Creators and Journalists know they're stuck sharecropping on centralized platforms that can demonetize or delete or just shadow ban their accounts. One day their content gets broadcast to the world, the next the algorithm doesn't even show it to their followers. Their revenue is dependent on getting a cut from an opaque and arbitrary advertising system.
So, share these links, if you're a creator or journalist sign up, and when we start promoting these folks on nostr, check out what they're doing and if you like it, send them zaps. This is open to both existing nostr creators and journalists and new ones we'll onboard.
It's been about a month since I jumped on #nostr and nostr:npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg, and I haven't had this much fun and engagement in years.
And reviewing my stats, this is by far my most popular track (even the mighty nostr:npub13ql75nq8rldygpkjke47y893akh5tglqtqzs6cspancaxktthsusvfqcg7 zapped it - twice!) Thank you all!

The list of initial choices at setup were too narrow (I may like memes and bitcoin, but I don't want a feed filled with them), so I chose "news" just to have something in the feed.
As I said, you can tweak it easily once you're in.
Great work though, I like it a lot!
If you're new to #nostr and coming from #reddit, may I suggest #zappdit? It's not 1 to 1 with reddit, but it might make you feel a bit more comfortable.
Don't be put off by the discovery wizard, you can configure your feed however you want.

Been thinking about doing a long form ambient album, 30min or so, specifically for sleep/study.
However, now thinking a fortnightly/monthly "podcast" format might be better given that nostr:npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg and fountain provide the perfect platforms for such a project.

Oh, great! But I searched and couldn't find my tracks. But I used the website; maybe the app has better search? Will re-check!
Have discovered that uploading to npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg also makes tracks available on TrueFans (but not Fountain, from what I can tell.) But they show up as the track title not the artist name.
But they're available!
