🧀 / 🥭🏴‍☠️ If you're wondering why I unfollowed you, it's because I moved you into a private list. Also, consider not calculating your value as a person based on whether or not a cheese packet unfollowed you.

I fired up #Snikket on a $5/mo VPS and I'm impressed. It's really fast, E2EE, and easy on resources. It and Docker are using a little less than 500MB combined.

If anyone has advice on hardening the install, I'd love to hear it. I don't know what the specific risks are, but there are a lot of ports open for the various services. Basic VPS stuff is done, e.g., SSH keys, no root login, no passwords, etc. No other services on that server, only Snikket.

How do you deal with the delay? It's near impossible to have a normal conversation on Signal, Threema, SimpleX, etc.

I'm suggesting a troubleshooting step. Cool it regardless. See if it reboots. If it does, it could be mechanical expansion/contraction in a solder joint. Then repeat the process by heating it.

The weird, unexplainable gremlins are probably soldering issues on these kinds of projects.

It is occasionally beneficial to create distance from one's children in order to embark on a short journey of self-discovery, exploring the dichotomy of the self-as-parent and the self-as-individual.

Furthermore, children will experience a journey into the realm of self-management and individualism, ultimately and incrementally preparing them for adulthood.

Ironically, a temporary and semi-regular "abandonment" of one's children may, in fact, be one of the more powerful and productive parental strategies in our repertoire.

....and I'm full of shit. 😂 Y'all have fun!

Teriyaki steak, broccoli, bananananananana bread right out of the oven, and coffee.

That'll do.

Looks like standard stuff.

That said, it is VERY cool. Kind of feels like holding a flip phone and watching the original iPhone keynote.
