Dont sleep on walking. I used to take my dog on early walks daily, and as he got older the walks got shorter until eventually they became a slow exploration of the yard. Fast forward a year, and he's still a good old boy, but I've had a noticable decline in heath and lower body mobility. I finally embraced the inevitable and started going for walks without my buddy 😥 and have noticed an immediate improvement. Neither of us are a fan of him having to stay home though.

In 1.7.0, we've made a number of performance improvements, bug fixes, and new features, but here's the ones we're excited about the most:

- On chain fedimint support

- Transfer funds between federations

- Node operates in a web worker now, the UI should be quicker

If you have a federation added, all on chain deposits to Mutiny will go into there.

We have full send and receive support now, so this effectively gives you a unified balance with fedimint, allowing you to send or receive via onchain & lightning.

The Bitcoin Atlantis federation is shutting down at the end of the month. We now parse all of the metadata for federations and will display pop up warnings like this.

Included in this release is the ability to transfer funds from one federation to another to make this seamless.

Lastly, we've moved all the core logic into a Web Worker. That means the UI thread doesn't have to fight with Mutiny for resources. This should make most wallet operations faster, and keep the UI responsive at all times. It's a big change, so if you see any problems let us know!

the idea would be to help decentralization of mining/pools by appealing to a new type of hobbiest miner who is in it for the fun/lulz… not aiming for scaling/optimizing a mining business

imagine you could pay $10/month to rent a simple bitcoin miner. Plug it in to an electrical socket at your home, connect it to wifi. maybe have some gaming mechanic related to lotto ticket scratchers, but ultimately you have a very small chance to win something very big — maybe something close to a block reward or more each week

does this sound interesting? maybe it wouldn’t appeal to you, but could you imagine other people who it would appeal to? a lot of people play state lotteries. bitcoin mining has a credibly neutral “random” lottery-like reward
