I think we'll be saving up for a trencher, we're just not kids anymore and even with the roto-hammer it's still a multi-day task to do a 130ft 18in deep trench for a solar upgrade project. Plus we hit about ten feet of caliche. If you've never had to dig in caliche, count yourself lucky! 🤣

Looking closer at it, I'm thinking it maybe blight. The spots on the leaves. Google it amd that should have more on how to deal with it. We don't deal much with blight, we're too dry most of the time.
How long have they been in the ground? Could they be dieing because it will be time to harvest them soon? If not then it could be anything from an herbicide to insect damage, mineral difecincy, or fungal disease.
Good luck finding your perfect place! We traveled for a bit but there was just something about this area that we couldn't get it out of our heads.

Right? We ended up finding it and not as deep as it should have been, less then a foot vs the 18in it should have been.
Playing the game of where we're is the propane line??? Homeowners can't remember where it went in and now we're playing don't hit it and hand dig instead of using our roto-hammer to dig this part of the trench.

We received about an inch of rain overnight, my garden looks so happy! I'm so happy! It's been a slow start to monsoon season here and yesterday was the first significant rain that we've had since May on our property. Apparently some of the land formations around us create a vortex and most of the storms go around us. My neighbor also said the canyon below us is home to some skinwalkers and they keep the storms from coming near the canyon and thus our properties above the canyon. He also told me that the wolf my husband saw on our property is actually the main skinwalker in our immediate area, but that if we're not afraid of him he can't hurt us and leaves like he did with my husband. But he did say that the skinwalkers are evil and he would tell me which caves in the canyon are safe to explore and which are the skinwalker's homes. I don't claim to understand any of the this folklore, I just accept that there are definitely things I don't understand in our world, but it was really interesting learning about some lore of the Navajo people in our direct area.

I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine, that must have been so hard. My husband has a couple of old coworkers who lost they're homes in a wildfire a couple of years ago. It's just devastating.
Fire and smoke aren't good but man does it produce a gorgeous sunset. The fire is about an hour away from us. The people in it's path could definitely use some prayers tonight.
