In high school, I had to do a research paper and it was a huge part of passing that year. If you didn’t do well on this paper, you were going to really struggle to get your credits.

I chose to study ADHD and the prescription of medication for it. I honestly did it as a joke, because everyone used to tell me I definitely had it, but I was never formally diagnosed.

It turned into a total rabbit hole. I found all sorts of data on sky rocketing diagnoses, the effects of the drugs, the fact that doctors didn’t have a standardized way to diagnose, and on and on.

At this point, I pretty firmly believe ADHD isn’t “real”. I think everyone, boys and men in particular, have things that interest them more than others, which results in a natural disinterest in everything else.

Between that and this wild expectation we now have on kids to sit still in a classroom, I totally believe this whole thing is a psyop. I’m leaning that way on autism too, at least for the more “mild” cases.

Machine learning (aka “AI”) is nothing but very advanced statistics. At the end of the day, it’s using statistics to determine the most likely solution to whatever you’re asking of it.

The idea that we can use that to create a super intelligent machine that will be better than humans in every is frankly, insulting. Humans and our intelligence are so much more than that.

But some people still wholesale buy this. And if you push back at all “why are you Luddite bro?!”

This whole thing honestly perplexes me. I’m not a super smart person, I’m very aware of that. I always second guess myself, so maybe I’m just missing something. But I don’t think I am.

Man, if people knew how little companies typically do to secure their data, things would be way different. Insane the things I run into sometimes.

If you buy a meme coin and get rugged, I don’t feel sorry for you. Don’t be a degenerate.

It’s crazy how much time preference matters in life.

I have a friend who has sworn off bitcoin forever because his wife “lost money on it”. After some probing, she actually got caught up in a scam where you send them bitcoin, they “invest” it for you, and then ask you to keep doubling down.

Apparently took out a home equity loan to continue, thought she was up hundreds of thousands, and then they finally realized what was happening. All because they wanted to get rich quick.

Instead of just being patient and holding, they’re now deep in the hole. Sad.

My wife just told me she has 180 tabs open in her browser on her phone. I’ll never look at her the same again.
