I think reviews are an extremely underrated / under explored design space for application that want to leverage Nostr (in particular, the social graph).
In this essay, the first of a series I want to publish on nostr:npub1w0rthyjyp2f5gful0gm2500pwyxfrx93a85289xdz0sd6hyef33sh2cu4x, I break down:
- how reviews drive commerce
- despite their being broken / fake / easily gamed
- how the internet originally won
- what’s needed to make the internet functional again (upgraded stack)

Reasons:
1) it’s a badass name and one of the only non-“str” names that still works beautifully with the word Nostr
2) Damus was banned in China, “nostrclient77” was not. We know and love Damus
3) you’d shot yourself in the foot a bit as far as the amount of time spent explaining that it’s “same same but different”. Literally the start of every What Bitcoin Did starts with nostr:npub14mcddvsjsflnhgw7vxykz0ndfqj0rq04v7cjq5nnc95ftld0pv3shcfrlx needing to explain that “IREN” is the same as “Iris energy” and like I get it but don’t do that to yourself man
4) you’d need a new logo and I fucking love my Damus tank top
In the interest of a balanced approach to this argument, here are some reasons you *should* pick a new name:
1) you decide one day to stop loving Damus and want to break up with it
2) that’s not a good enough reason
