Roman historian and senator Tacticus writes in about 116 AD about the Great Fire of Rome in 64 AD, where he references Christians (this is one of the two earliest non-Christian sources of information about the historical reality of some dude named Jesus the Christ and of the Christians). He is writing about the fact that most people felt that Nero started the fire himself, and then used the Christians as scapegoats.

Nero propelled Christianity from a popular fad into a two-thousand-year-long belief system.

With the federal government only actively supervising or detaining less than 1% of the estimated 17 million illegal aliens maybe they need to realize it's a lost cause. Stop fighting the border crossings but also stop all welfare and handouts to them. Remove the economic incentives provided by government spending.

There is what you realistically CAN do as president and then what you would like to do or work toward. But since it's a campaign you make promises of what you'd like to do, whether you can or not.

So my promises/goals would be to:

- massively deregulate

- abolish the federal income tax

- cut federal spending by at least 90%

The Day of the Lord Will Come

3 This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. Final Words

I believe this, but I think it refers to the Second Coming of Christ. I believe those verses about Him coming in Revelation have to do with His coming in judgment on the Jews in A.D. 70. So, He did come soon, then, as He said, indeed in that same generation as He told them in the Oliver Discourse. However, I do believe that the Second Coming is still unfulfilled.

I can't tell you exactly how the modern State evolved in England, except to say that Parliament grew more powerful at the expense of the monarchy, and mass democracy spread, but apparently the intermediating institutions of churches, families, guilds, and other voluntary associations seem to have declined in influence. They moved away from the Patriarcha of Robert Filmer and towards the Leviathan of Thomas Hobbes. Is that an increase in godlessness and insolence? It does seem to be a shift away from natural/divine law towards artificial/man-made law.
