Thanks. I head to Nostrasia on Monday
I appreciate you taking the time to read this.
We are hosting a nest right now. Come and join us.
We don't our money in the bank
We don't own shares in a brokerage account
We don't own a leasehold property
We don't own a CD or video collection anymore
We don't own the assets that are in our pensions
The state owns us!
We had better get building then!
I'm guessing that you don't deliver to the UK???
We are starting a Nostr Nest right now. Come join
Can we please find another famous hedge fund manager to go out on twitter and pretent to support the treasury market. If we don't, then it is going to get messy.
Some of the people can be fooled all the time.
All of the people can be fooled some of the time.
But not all of the people can be fooled all of the time.
The inevitablity is math. The timing is under our control.
Be careful what you wish for.
If the fiat system crashes, then we won't be able to buy food.
Unforgettable when everyone thought they had discovered Satoshi Nakamoto in 2014 🤭
It was only at a scheduled press conference that his true identity could be clarified. 😅

That guy is sooo him!
Our only hope is that they can keep on kicking the can down the road for long enough to allow us to build systems that make Bitcoin scalable and usable by the average person.
A world without sound money is a world of slavery!
Up until about 6 months ago, they were highly correlated. Bitcoin was like the S&P500 on drugs.
Now, they are quite happy to go in opposite directions.
I think that means that a significant part of the investing public might had a foot in both camps before.
The bear market has concentrated ownership into the hands of a few strong people that did not lose faith through the winter. They carried on DCAing, double down their savings to take advantage of the Bitcoin 'on sale'.
I think that it is only fair to say that the correlation between Bitcoin and the equity markets is now well and truely broken!
How do we fix this?
The entities that create that fake content will have bitcoin wallets and they will be able to pay people to promote them.
Has anyone noticed that spam emails are now much more intelligent sounding than they used to be?
I think that ChatGPT might be having something to do with this.
I love the Nos da connotation. What is Welsh for good morning?
We've been thinking a lot about subscriptions at Mutiny and how others can take advantage of it.
Today, ZapplePay just shipped AutoZaps. It's like a decentralized Patreon: every npub gets their own page where people can set up recurring payments to them. https://www.zapplepay.com/autozap/
AutoZaps and ZapplePay use NWC (Nostr Wallet Connect) to communicate with supporting wallets such as Mutiny and Alby. Both wallets have budgeting features so you can auto-approve payment requests associated with a specific NWC string.
We built Mutiny+ using this same NWC tech. Bitcoin is a "push" system, so replicating fiat's "pull" payments in a self-sovereign way involves new ideas and standards. NWC keeps the user in control, and offers the convenience of autopay when you want it. https://blog.mutinywallet.com/solving-subscriptions-on-bitcoin-one-zap-at-a-time/
Check out AutoZaps and see what you think! We're looking to work with other services / products that want to offer NWC-based checkouts and subscriptions so hit us up if you'd like to chat.
One of the key use cases of Bitcoin lightning is low cost transactions. This enables merchants of digital content to take small payments for one off purchases where previously that would have been cost prohibitive.
Bitcoin gives us an alternative to to the subscription model. We all know the scenario of signing up for the free trial because we want to see that one thing. Then we forget to cancel the service that we are not using and get stuck in a passive form of abuse for months until we notice the payments going out. We can do better than this!
Do people in Bitcoin really understand Bitcion?
Some people that buy bitcoin, leave it on an exchange, don't understand what it is at all. They think it's just a Ponzi scheme and they can make some money out of it.
Other people understand the digital gold concept, the fact that it's 21 million. There can't be more than 21m, so it is a good store of value.
Some people out there actually understand that the fiat system is going to fail, but they don't believe that Bitcoin is a solution. They're either gold bugs or they just believe some other new form of government currency has to be created. They think that because they can't see out of walled garden and they think that the only way you can have a currency, is if it is controlled by the government.
But then there are a smaller number of us, and I've got to say, I've only joined this band in the last couple of years since I've seen lightning working, that know that this is actually the payment system of the future and lightning makes all the difference. I think Nostr as an application that uses lightning for exchange of value for Internet media, that's a really good use case that proves Bitcoin. That's what this really evolves into, is fundamentally a payment system that we can all use in a fast and cheap way more securely than anything we have ever had before. The added advantage is that the base layer can't be over inflated. It is like the invention of paper notes that operated as a faster and cheaper layer 2 that runs on top of the gold base layer.
We used to have because paper notes were faster and cheaper to transact than gold. With lightning, you've got your base layer, which is the bitcoin, and instead of being held in a single vault controlled by the government or by multiple governments, you've got this decentralized storage of the digital gold because it can be in multiple multisig wallets around the world. No one really knows where they all are, so it can't be seized. It's enforcing democracy in terms of money. The lightning is sound money because the payment layer programatically and securerly represents the base asset.
