Suits me if some deep-pocketed types are toying with the people doing high leverage stuff against Bitcoin as that mess seems to artificially distort the actual market value of BTC… or that’s my layman’s impression at least

Retried and it worked… with caveats. While I see the boost message in the Fountain wallet view, I don’t in Alby and neither show the boost amount, just the post-fee amount. The boost also doesn’t show up in the sent tab oh Helipad.

Since I had a bunch of stuff hanging around, I decided to make my own controller for a couple of strands of lights on my porch that I want to control with #WLED. A strip will connect to each screw terminal block, power will come into the board with one pigtail, and the other pigtail will facilitate power injection to the far end, if needed. I’ve got a weather proof box and a power supply coming tomorrow and am kinda excited to finalize my first outdoor diy setup (I’ve only done indoor ones before).

Now, if only the terminology would get corrected to “sats” in the new Square stuff. It’s been that way in CashApp, and everywhere else. We understand dollars and cents just fine and can just as easily understand bitcoins are sats. In both cases, x number of the latter make up one of the former.
True, a soft fork does not in itself change the permissionless nature, but the nature of this BIP introduces arbitrary, seemingly human initiated, chain splits that are not based on the validity of a transaction, but rather on what extra data was included as part of that transaction, or some unrelated transaction in the same block. No one’s opinion of right and wrong should have impact on my ability to settle a financial transaction on the #Bitcoin network, just as no one’s opinion of what I spend money on can stop me from handling a stack of cash (or gold) to someone to settle a transaction in person. I don’t need a governing body, or anyone else, to be able to do an in person exchange of value nor do I need someone else’s permission to transact in bitcoin today… and it should stay that way. Arbitrarily excluding blocks in the method described seems very likely to result in censorship. All useful tools, especially technological ones, can be used for both good and evil, but that’s not a reason to penalize the ones not doing the evil.

Wes: how do you deal with the fact that #ESPHome in #nix is always way behind? I have tried going that route for building updates but it lags behind HAOS and the associated add in too much. So far for me, I’ve resorted to using a virtual environment on macOS to do builds so that the versions match and builds are fast.
