V rozhovoru s Urzou Jan Vobořil (Iuridicum Remedium) prezentuje právní názor, že to že má policie zákonem dané právo vytvořit a udržovat databázi fotografií občanů ještě neznamená, že nad ní může spouštět libovolné analýzy, které jí současné technologie umožní (třeba ztotožnění libovolného člověka z fotografie nebo videa )

Myslím, že je třeba věnovat podobnou péči i bankám.

Něco se děje! Je toho v poslední době čím dál více, banky ztrácí poslední zábrany ve zneužití dat svých klientů a emancipují´se. Nejprve Putna z Raiffeisenbank a uhlíková kalkulačka, tady Česká Spořitelna a další level dotěrného marketingu, kterému nepůjde odolat (hezká byla věta: Musíte přinést nějaký benefit, aby vás neměli za velkého bratra…). V Insideru se zase rozpovídal Petr Žabža z Airbank o možnosti rozšířit záběr bank za hranice finančních služeb a využívat data o zákaznících k poskytování nabídek v návazných oborech, jako stavebnictví a zařizování nemovitosti nebo daňové poradenství. “…a budou se nabízet opravdu chytře, protože těch dat o klientech máme opravdu spoustu a budou se šít opravdu na míru…” úplně vidím, jak ti v rámci hypotéky místo peněz na účet přijde k podpisu předvyplněná smlouva o dílo s předvybranou stavební firmou….

…a nad těma daněma snad ani raději nepřemýšlím…

Každopádně banky se začínají chovat jako stát a chtějí svá data a moc začít využívat.

For the fact that Malaysia is officially a Muslim country, they have outstanding pork, especially bacon. Not everywhere, but I've eaten bacon here that can be only outcompeted by home smoked pork of some of my family members (decentralized small scale production usually wins on quality).

Malaysia is a great example of different cultures living together in peace (whatever locals would tell you - there's no violence). BTW the sometimes not so nice behavior of immigrants in Europe is most probably not due to their religion, but the fact they are selected as recipients of social security. It's like inviting white trash fentanyl junkies from San Francisco to Berlin with free money and lodging and then saying "white Christians cause trouble". It has nothing to do with Bible. Or Quran.

Some of it is, but not too much. And a lot of the stuff they changed for absolutely no understandable reason, was not stuff that would’ve been dated otherwise.

Some minor points of tech are anachronisms now, but Asimov was pretty spot on with his science, so there aren’t too many glaring issues.

As a counterpoint: Dune Part 1. They changed some stuff, but the story is still Dune. Tbh it’s one of the slickest book->movie’s I’ve seen lately. Foundation does not feel like the story in the book. (To me)

My stance on climate change is that even if the models and the measurements are not flawed, and we can ascertain that human industrialization has caused a climatic shift, I'm 100% certain that State-planned central management can NEVER under any circumstance be successful at palliating it.

Not only because science can diagnose the problem but not necessarily have the right solutions, but because central planning simply is incompetent and immoral by definition.

In fact, the more the Corporatist State embroils itself in it, the worse the result will be.

On the other hand, as a libertarian, I think Henry George got it exactly right, and people should pay rent on their usage and the deterioration they cause with their economic activity of non-produced non-renewable resources, like land and the atmosphere.

Not on any form of economic and productive activity they carry out, only on their exclusive appropriation and consumption of resources that they did not originate.

I also think that unlike with "global climate" events, science can be a lot more accurate and trustworthy when it comes to local events and resources as georgist policies would demand.

To simplify: tell me you want non-emission vehicles because they save my town from pulmonary disease and stunted infantile growth. Not because the ocean levels in whatever buttfuck country on the other side of the world.

In the first case, we can campaign together until we convince people to walk and cycle more and stop burning so much diesel. In the second case, I know for a fact you're being sneaky with me and probably have ulterior hidden motives, and I will adamantly fight against you.

This series was a great example of both the good and the bad that can happen when deviating from the book.

The emperor thing was pretty cool. The rest of the show is basically crap imo. I’ve read Foundation probably a dozen times, and it would’ve had to be modified for TV, but they really missed the mark a lot of ways that just seem needless.

This is my feeling as well so far. The main characters are very uninteresting except for the emperor scenes.

I was disappointed when I watch the first season. Maybe because I red a several Asimov’s books when I was a little one. Does it improve in the next season?

In the show "Foundation" on Apple TV, the emperor of a galactic civilization clones himself to continue as an eternal ruler. He has 3 versions of himself at all times - a young boy, a grown man, and an older version of himself. He has an AI (humanoid) caretaker that raises all of the clones from the moment they are "born" and lives through generations after generation for thousands of years.

I though that was an interesting concept.

We are actually fine in financial terms. But the lack of innovation (which is something we’ve been known for) and our company becoming a “Golden goose” (I hope that’s a right term for it) to fund all other company’s ventures is now a official statement of a leadership… so I guess that in five years we’ll be a goner.
