To be fair, I’m less knowledgeable about AI than I should be and one of my goals for this year is to better learn tools for refactoring/improving existing apps. But “vibe code” at the lower-layers or multiple layers of vibe code sounds risky to me. AI should be held to (at least) the same standards as human developers.

I think we need to be realistic:

I do not believe that the solution to our problem is simply to elect the right people. The important thing is to establish a political climate of opinion which will make it politically profitable for the wrong people to do the right thing. Unless it is politically profitable for the wrong people to do the right thing, the right people will not do the right thing either, or it they try, they will shortly be out of office.

Sparrow in Debian will be hard because it uses Gradle for its build and getting a DFSG-compatible build of Gradle is very difficult.
