Now that the mechanisms exist it can be replicated. And it will once all of the miners using pools start migrating to Ocean.

This is a paradigm shift in my opinion.

When you try to control a market it will ALWAYS respond in unintended ways. Bitcoin has this fascinating property that if you try to control it, it'll just go somewhere else and you'll miss out on it.

Fortunately, this too is good for Bitcoin though. It is going to select out the custodial services and leave behind non-custodial services and everyone will be safer because of it.

As a developer I have this philosophy of protecting users from themselve when/where I can. Things that are dangerous should take a little more work. Little decisions like not writing a batch delete command or endpoint or, if it's really needed, including some kind of differentiator from the singular delete command.

I could talk for hours about "empathetic software engineering." (And have to my engineers. I'm sure they're sick of hearing about it πŸ˜‚)

- them, to me

This shouldn't even be a command lmao you should have to write a script to loop over the `listchannels` output and run `closechannel` X times.

Gfy back at you pal πŸ’œ

I never cared because we shouldn't put politicians on a pedestal.

🚨 nostr:npub1lh273a4wpkup00stw8dzqjvvrqrfdrv2v3v4t8pynuezlfe5vjnsnaa9nk announces the ocean.xyz mining pool (formerly Eligius)

This mining pool is different from the status quo in three important ways.

- Non-custodial - your hashrate, your bitcoin

- Transparent - verifiable and auditable using the TIDES reward scheme - Transparent Index of Distinct Extended Shares

- Permissionless - easy to join and use with just a miner and a bitcoin address

Learn more at https://ocean.xyz

Learning now but it's a non-custodial mining pool that advertises the block template before mining it.

It greatly decentralizes mining.

Sorry man, I don't want to get lost in pedantry. Agree to disagree (but actually agree, I suppose)
