I started making copper jewelry this week, turned out amazing! A matching set for my GF and I. I will be selling these and bracelets now too.

Finally able to get back to making knives!! I'm picking up on the tanto kiradashi I started months ago, the blade is now mostly done so I've started the handle. I'm using ash because I love the dark grain on light background look, it will match the blade perfectly!
I'm deciding between natural or burnt wood, I've included pics of both. Keep in mind that the grain will be darker with oil but let me know what you think!

My gf makes her own whipped cream with the heavy cream, I think its so much better than any store bought! I'll tell her about the monk fruit, thanks for the idea!
We did a bunch of canning this weekend! Got 16 full so far! A few different tomato pastes, and a few different salsas, and some peppers! Thanks to nostr:npub1mz74rfavpmqara422u0llymrgeeek5yjjysaxaul02yy4fjwf09s8m6xrm for letting us use the pressure canner! Also the view is so beautiful here.

A few weeks ago I injured my right hand, so I haven't been able to blacksmith or ride or do much else fun. I'm on medication but it really barely helps, but next week I see a specialist who is going to take an mri and give me steroids. So hopefully I can post more cool stuff soon!
On a good note; look at this huge moth I saved from my dog! It was like 5 inches wide!

I love it too, we moved from a very large city 3 years ago and the biggest thing I notice now is when I go to my parents in the city is how loud it is everywhere, like all the time. I never noticed it until I moved to the country.
We hear bats and mice and coyotes at night mostly. Only a handful of cars per day on our street.

Look at this absolute monster burger i got this weekend!! My hands are XXL blacksmith size and that burger was hard to hold!! It was called the Jack attack double, my gfs hand and Philly cheese steak in the background 😆

Just a quick update for everyone!
I did some grinding to my new knife, I think it looks so cool! Will be polished on the bottom with a forge finish on the beveled side!! Kinda turned into a tanto kiradashi lol
My chickens are laying a lot now,, sone giant and some tiny eggs lmao
And sadly one of my golden wyandotte-midnight maran hybrids was eaten by a coyote last week, RIP.
And lastly my daughter and I went berry picking and got 3 pounds of different berries! We made jam with them!

I started on this little soon to be kiradashi for myself! Its going to be a single edge, single bevel 3 finger kiradashi for my own carry for general use. I forged it from 5/8" 1085 round bar, the blade will be approximately 2.5 inches and the handle 3 inches. I'm mostly excited because its my first time using my all new heated quench system with AAA oil! Dramatically less warping and no cracks! Still has a lot of work to go but ill keep yall informed!

We do too! Our garden is a few hundred feet from the house so the only way to water is load our little tractor with buckets full of water 😆
Getting the removable lids really cut down on waste from splashing!
We had the most American independence day! My brother and I got new guns and My GF got bruises from shooting so much! The kids and I set off tons of fireworks! God Bless America!!

I think these chicks are so incredible looking! Lots of metalic green on the dark ones, I think they are gold laced wyandotte mixed with black maran. The other hen is a silverlaced wyandotte, such a cool pattern!
The little guy is my rooster! He's a white faced black spanish bantam, so he's already full size.

Our chicks (now hens) have finally started laying! Because they're so young the eggs are tiny 😆
The eggs beside are large and extra large. (We sometimes get XXL too lol)

A work in progress, this chefs knife has been a real challenge for me because it needs precision grinding, but its coming along great! Its forged from 1085 steel 1 inch round bar, and has an integral bolster, my favorite look! I'm so excited to complete it!
Any one have a wood preference between, poplar, hickory, ash, and red oak? still trying to decide on handle material, I'm leaning toward ash or hickory, ash has great contrast, and hickory has tight grains. All input is welcome!

I made this 4 foot long shepherds hook for my in-laws! Its 1/2 in A 36 all hand forged by me, its the biggest thing I've ever made! The flat areas are for Lag bolts, its going to be bolted to their pool deck to hang plants.
