Chief user experience complainer. Head of FOMO.

Idea: Publish books as signed nostr events (nip chapters, format, etc). With this we can then use highlighter and chat about individual quotes or sections. We have couple authors on nostr that would be happy to do that imo...

It's like node, you just flip couple letters...

Yes I still think nostr:npub10pensatlcfwktnvjjw2dtem38n6rvw8g6fv73h84cuacxn4c28eqyfn34f are extremely valuable at this time, and I think they are doing a good job, I just want to encourage another path so the ecosystem doesn’t degrade in a negative way. I don’t see this as a knock against them at all, I just want to ensure there are counterbalances to power. I doubt nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx would disagree, I think he has said something similar in the past. Opensats is a stepping stone and is not a long term solution for nostr.

No i have not got VC, i’m supported by grants and damus purple users.

For folks trying to figure out what the fuss (and plethora of passive aggressive posts recently on nostr) is about, here's the core of it.

Sometimes you are right and there is no other way, but in the small number of cases there is a hope for the other person and maybe by trying to summarize their point for them you learn something new.

Pro tip when arguing with someone:

First recognize the 90% that you actually agree on with the person and then clearly state what 10% you disagree with.

This will instantly remove 90% of the argument, since the other person won't need to keep defending the 90%.

If you don't do this you are actually just violently agreeing with each other without realizing.

#ProTip

Just to provide another example - itch.io is a great platform for retrogaming where the games are either free or cost like $5 and $2.5 on sale: https://itch.io/s/121680/birthday-sale .

It's centralized, etc, all the usual issues, but note that the price is small enough that I would not mind buying it if I like the game.

Maybe you need something like that? Your usual content would be free, while your long form content would be for 2000 sats or $5 😉

And sometimes they do this when you can download for free, but the UI really tries to nudge you towards paying.

In reality the colors are way more faded. This photo has boosted saturation.

"Most small business never make anything beyond living expenses."

AND

"Many small companies make lots of money."

can both be true.

I think both of you have a point and there is a value in minimalism, but for me I enjoy the combination of having really portable way to read books without distraction and at the same time having a feeling that I have a nice library of books that I own, I can always look at and I can always check remember the books I read and check through books to read next.

If you set the phone for Night Light (to disable blue light), reduce the brightness to minimum, and set white text on black background, then it's fairly easy to read in full dark (on OLED displays).

You don't get many UX/UI focused devs in India. I'm guessing this is probably because of the university system in India. Also the timezone difference is a big pain though. Especially if you are not east coast.

What a great story from nostr:npub1asuq0pxedwfagpqkdf4lrfmcyfaffgptmayel9947j8krad3x58srs20ap about using Nostr as a creator! 💜💜💜 We need more stories like this!
