Mixing some formula while getting ready to watch formula 1!

It was very humbling to celebrate Prime Day this week and pay our honors to Optimus Prime.
Nice! That looks similar to https://github.com/cryptomator/cryptomator .
But somehow I find it annoying that the encrypted files then pop up everywhere, so I'm probably encrypting whole partition...
And a question - what is the state of the art of encrypting data on SSD? Do I just LUKS it?

Const means you can't replace the object pointer by anything else, but you can still modify the contents of the object.
What about systemd-boot?
TIL last year they found a single shape that tiles aperiodically

And it was some guy playing with shapes at home as a hobby...
They could whisper it in Morse code and the phone mic could parse it đđ
Humans can read a long string of characters and numbers đ
My palms sweat just watching this https://video.nostr.build/e65f563d96b2503533744dd9297ef83ebb24fff3f42ab2a5a7b64f546b3c3dbb.mp4
The more daredevils, the less daredevils.
True. The paychecks are "normal" for the most expensive places I mentioned, otherwise you could definitely go cheaper.
Since the information is public I think anyone can make their decision on whether the value that HRF (and their employees) provides matches their compensation. Value for value. If you believe they should be compensated less, then don't donate to/via HRF. (use things like geyser.fund instead ;) )
This very much depends on where you live. If you live in NYC, LA or SF, then this is less than what average software engineers get especially if you count equity that software engineers in big corpos often get as part of their comp.
You can confirm this on https://www.glassdoor.com/
E.g. with the money that nostr:npub1trr5r2nrpsk6xkjk5a7p6pfcryyt6yzsflwjmz6r7uj7lfkjxxtq78hdpu is getting after 40% taxes, you can reasonably rent a decent 2-3 bedroom ($5k/m), get a car, have some money to travel, etc, but if you would want to own a place or if you need to take care of your dependents, then it becomes harder (without additional income)
Overall based on 2022 HRF pays $3M in salaries, has $34M in assets, spends $8M on education and grants, spends $9M on investments.
I may be misunderstanding on some of the specifics, but the details are in: https://hrf.org/annual_reports/2022-audited-financial-statements/
Depending on the job. It usually takes at least $200k to get good experienced software engineers in the US (in latin america it's around $60k+). I'm talking from experience of hiring multiple engineers recently.
Honestly the HRF numbers don't surprise/outrage me, but your mileage may vary.

Don't trust, verify. This is public information that you can find on page 7 of their Tax Form 990 for 2022. You can download the document for free with an account on guidestar.org.
