If you believe in majority rules, that’s hard to resolve.
The only way to combat that is to convince more people that freedom is valuable. It’s not the gimme you might think.

I fear I am not as principled as I think. I’ll bet if someone offered me large piles of cash, I’d be able to rationalize almost anything.
You don’t have to be a fascist to understand how easy it is to succumb to money and power.
But you also have to ask yourself, how much better was Bernie Madoff gonna be if he’d played it straight? So the end wasn’t so great. He did more than most.
