People fundamentally want to be able to help each other in times of need. Nostr paired with Bitcoin I think has the best chance of doing this in the most direct way that is possible over the Internet.

I’m pretty sure coinmarketcap used to be denominated in BTC by default and then it was quietly swept under the carpet
They don’t see that because BTC isn’t their unit of account

It’s interesting that I’ve zapped more value to random people than I have to some of my favorite people in the world who are not active here. The nature of the UX just makes it that much easier to do so!

In the same way that Fountain sending me sats changed my behavior to listen to way more podcasts, Zaps caused me to do absolutely nothing but shitpost on Damus whenever I get the chance.
It was only about 4 months ago that images and gifs and link previews were implemented
